Alvin Gentry always thought “Seven Seconds or Less” was a marketing gimmick rather than an apt description of Mike D’Antoni’s Phoenix Suns. But the one trait that accurately defined the Suns then and the Suns now is energy. When Phoenix has it — on both ends of the floor — it’s a handful.
