The Suns are moving really bad on the def rotations and Gortat looks like he is just about to fall a sleep out there.

I wouldn't give up yet, there's still two and a half minutes left and we're only down 30. If we'd had decent refs, it wouldn't be more than 20 tops.

If Morris is the tanking "agent provocateur", he is doing an awesome job and Gortat probably had his worst game as a Suns tonight.

55-50 at the half..... Its a 48 minute game, and the Suns talent level
showed in the remaining 24 minutes = blow out by the Thunder. Good thing Durant and Westbrook rested down the stretch,,,,could have been worse.

Not sure I can watch the next game vs. the Thunder coming up at home.......will be like watching Sitting Bull at the Battle of the Little Bighorn vs. Custer's 7th Calvalry > skinned alive  OK,,,I could be wrong?

And they didn't even have to play 4 quarters. :)

Sadly, I think the primary reason the Suns have been competitive going into the 3rd quarter in many games is because other teams do not take them seriously earlier in the game. Teams feel they can turn up the juice in the second half and blow them out, sort of how a cat plays with a mouse. Yes, the Suns are that bad.

I hate to say it Mainstreet but I think you nailed it.

Did you guys even watch the game? I don't think you could be further from the truth. It looked to me like the Thunder tried to stomp on us early but failed to do so. The Thunder started out with great intensity but the Suns fought back. It wasn't until the third quarter that our inferior team started wearing down and getting beat back.

Maybe if you're talking in general. But last night this was definitely not the case.

I was not specifically referring to last night's game because the Thunder can pound on most teams on a given night. The Suns seem to have formed a pattern of sorts of not playing well in the second half of games. I do think a lot of teams believe they can turn up the intensity in the second half of games and the Suns will fold. IMO, the Suns have to be on top of their game for a full 48 minutes to be competitive because of a lack of talent and consistent effort. In other words, the Suns do not have a margin for error.

I haven't watched the game yet but as it was in the Thunder game thread, naturally you'd think Mainstreet was referring to it. I rather expected it was included in the indictment myself, but since it was a general statement I chimed in. Hey, it sounds like I'll enjoy the first half.

I've watched a dozen college games since last night's Suns game so it's a little fuzzy now but IIRC, they DID stomp on us early. I seem to recall a double digit deficit early but our bench brought us back. Anyway, I think, as happens to all mediocre and bad teams, some opponents tend to start out a little unenergized against us. It might happen even a bit more for us as we don't have any one single player that can put a little fear in an opponent.

You're right about the deficit. I thought we were going for an o-fer in the 1st quarter. OKC had either ten or twelve points before we scored.

Luckily, Dragic came to life and did just about all of our scoring if I remember right. After his scoring binge, they double-teamed him the rest of the way, which is why Beasley was able to score 25 and Dragic hardly any.

Yeah, I forgot about the Dragic outburst. For awhile there he looked like the guy that tore up San Antonio a few years ago. When he plays like that it's hard to see what separates him from the real stars in the game. Unfortunately, he doesn't play like that very often.
