If D'Antoni lands another head coaching job in the NBA I'll be in disbelief. :bang:

Amare is not the only player to say that about D'Antoni and look at how D'Antoni dismantled the defense in New York.
Also let's not forget how much the Suns defense improved when Porter replaced D'Antoni. Oh, wait...

Btw, Amare also didn't learn how to play defense under Frank Johnson (Amare's first NBA head coach), Terry Porter, Alvin Gentry or Mike Woodson. Some players just don't have what it takes.

I'll always believe that it was a decision on Amare's part. He made an effort to play D early in his career and time after time he'd be outstmarted by his opponent and end up called for a foul (many legit but many bogus too). It didn't take him long to realize that he was a frequent highlight star on ESPN when he was on the court but if he tried to play defense, he wasn't on the court as much. It's hard for the other guy to engineer a foul call on you if you if you keep your distance. I think Amare wanted to be a star more than anything. He was willing to put in the time and effort to be that star but he also believed that offense was the way to do that.

That is true but remember how many of us laughed at the prospect of the roster even having the ability under any coach.

Not arguing with the Amare point. Simply pointing out lack of defense under D'Antoni did not start and end with Amare.

Its amusing how you consistently state facts
Yes, I do.

:)

And btw, there are no facts I don't like. None of this affects me personally, so "like" or "not like" doesn't apply. But what I don't like is when people proclaim one thing as a fact while ignoring other contributing factors.
