Jamal Crawford is expected to turn down his player option for 2012/13, and when he does, the Suns may be one of the first teams to come after him. According to Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com, Phoenix intends to aggressively pursue Crawford this summer.

As an outsider, this even makes me a bit uneasy.

And for those who don't understand sarcasm. This does not excite me at all.

One of the articles on the game last night mentioned that at one point Crawford joked with one of the announcers that he should be playing in Phoenix.

Obviously, Crawford is not the answer but would be a really nice piece.

A nice piece for what? Crawford is just not that good. Sure, he'll light it up from time to time, but other than that, he brings nothing to the table. We need stars, not erratic and over payed role players, especially ones who are on the tail end of their careers.

Please no. Have they learned nothing by signing Warrick and Chili? We need (a) star player(s).

I actually wouldn't mind if the Suns brought Brown back and tried to get a legit big to pair with Gortat. (Would probably have to be via a trade, though.) Millsap? Smith?

Unfortunately the Suns have almost zero trade assets.

Just because we were interested last year with limited flexibility does not mean we will go after him with more money again after he had a horrid season.

If only they had a young PG and a rookie SG averaging 12 ppg.

I'm not even sure I want them to sign Crawford to a fairly reasonable contract. Rumors about Eric Gordon and Crawford make me extremely nervous for this summer.

:)

*Cough* Goran Dragic *Cough* Marshon Brooks *Cough*

It's a shame to think of how much different our future would look had that trade not gone down.

Why give up assets (other than money) when Ersan Ilyasova and Kris Humphries are FAs?

A Crawford signing would be no better than Warrick. Both about the same level at the time of the signing.

I'm perfectly okay with the Suns pursuing Jamal Crawford. Once they trade for Dwight Howard and sign Eric Gordon, Crawford will make a fine addition to fill out the roster.

Seriously though, I never cared much for Crawford. I think I'd rather keep Brown.

I'd rather keep Brown too. He's shown that he can actually be a pretty decent starter. And he's younger. Knowing the Suns they'll let him walk and sign Crawford for basically the same amount. (Even if it's a shorter contract.)

I don't hate Crawford and he'd be a decent addition on a roster with a few stars. But it'd be a case of the Suns just spinning their wheels and not getting any better or worse.

As I view it the competition for a Suns roster spot would be between Michael Redd and Jamal Crawford. I'd just as soon keep Redd.

Shannon Brown has earned a spot on the Suns roster if the asking price is reasonable. Same with Telfair.
