Chandler, Amare, Nash, Hill (healthy) and JRich gets us back into the playoffs, IMO, but not deep into them. Would still like to see JRich traded for a long #2 that defends and can hit an occasional 3. Wonder what Raja is doing?... kidding.

Im glad everyone is on board the "J-Rich sucks" bandwagon that I tried to start months ago (the game he was suspended for and LB went off for like 40 points and 8 assists). He brings us nothing that LB doesnt bring us.

So lets say we get Chandler......we would be solid at center and no doubt would be drafting a wing.

Chandler/Lopez
Amare/Lou
Hill/#14
Richardson/LB
Nash/Goran

I would think they would try to draft a wing that could play the 3 or 4. This would allow Amare to play the five, the rook to play four and J-Rich could move to the three (and LB at the two) if we wanted to play small.

Please, oh please trade for Chandler.

With a deep bench, I agree with your statement with the exception of J-Rich. You are not going to find a better 2 on the open market than him.

STAT next to go?

The Suns and Golden State Warriors continue to talk about a deal that would send Amare Stoudemire to the team that has long coveted him.

Such a deal would include Warriors center Andris Biedrins coming to the Suns but also would need to include the Suns getting other lower-salary young players like Brandan Wright, Anthony Randolph or Marco Belinelli to make the numbers work. Phoenix is also hoping for a draft fall from Arizona power forward Jordan Hill and the Warriors hold the seventh pick in tonight's draft.

Whatever the package, the Suns would also probably accomplish some payroll and luxury tax savings for the coming year because Biedrins is slated to make $9 million in the coming season and Stoudemire will be at $16.4 million.

Like the contract Phoenix gave Boris Diaw, Biedrins will make a flat $9 million each year through the 2013-14 season. Biedrins is a 23-year-old Latvian 7-footer who plays with a high-revving motor that makes him a good rebounder and defender, although he is foul-prone. He is limited offensively but would be able to run with the Suns' fast-paced ways. He averaged 11.9 points and 11.2 rebounds in his fifth season with Golden State.

Stoudemire's contract goes through 2010-11 wtih a $17.7 million player option but the All-Star starter could opt out of it and be a free agent next summer.

This discussion makes much more sense that the bad Houston reports from earlier today because Golden State has been chasing Stoudemire for a while and Phoenix would get young pieces in return.

The Suns are also still talking to Oklahoma City about acquiring their 2010 first-round pick back. If the Suns find a way to get into tonight's first round elsewhere, that could involve their No. 14 pick. The Thunder have also shown a past interest in Robin Lopez.

If by open market you mean free agency, then Ron Artest is significantly better.

I meant trade block, sorry.

But the Suns are not going to pay big bucks on any free agents this season.

Throw in Wright and we have a deal

Why? If it's Randolph as the throw in and another is required, I'd ask for Morrow before I'd ask for Wright. Morrow is a stud along with Randolph. Much more than I think of Bellinelli or Wright.

And as far as the 2nd round pick from Cleveland. I don't mind that it's Top 40 protected and for the 2010 draft. This years draft is a bit watered down with idealistically the same players, and the 46th pick wouldn't have made of an impact IMO. Now, look at the 2010 draft, which will be loaded with outstanding All-Star type players in both rounds. Much better draft to get an impact player in next years draft than this years.

Actually, what I'd love to see the Suns do, is instead of trading Wallace for Chandler is they're gonna trade Amare to GSW, would be to try and send Wallace to the Clips for Kaman instead. Kaman has a low post game, and Chandler and Biedrins don't. That solidifies the middle without sacrificing too much offense.

I agree. Biedrens, Randolph and something is quite good for Amare if we're rebuilding. I'm not optimistic but I do hope we're blowing it up meaning shipping out Nash and Amare.

Also getting an extra 2nd rounder next year is probably better than having three this year. It is labeled a weak draft after all. No need to rebuild completely in one year.

Took a look at Morrow's numbers and he can hit it + he's 6'5 and 210 lbs.

If we can get Chandler, I'd say stay put, and draft at 14. If not, then blow it up, and this would be a nice start.
I think it's a very good possiblity we'd do it anyways if offered. I think those three could replace Amare's production rather easily. Nash would be pissed and probably demand out but that ship has probably sailed regardless. Deal him to Portland or Houston for a deal around Aaron Brooks or Batum or Bayless plus one of the Spaniards and that's a nucleus to build around.

I doubt Golden State goes for it though. That's a lot to give up for a possible one year rental.

Kaman? I don't like the Idea of being stuck with Kaman and the remaining $30+ mil over the next 3 years. Kaman is already as good as he is going to get, and frankly, he is not all that impressive on either side of the court.

Wright is redundant, especially when this deal apparently is contingent upon Jordan Hill being available at 7. That's a pretty damn good young frontcourt to build around.

If he called him a future trading piece would that be better? He's cheap, he's young and if GS wanted to throw him in, hell yeah you take him.

Obviously you'd take him, but if GS wanted to throw in another piece one would assume they'd toss in a guard or wing to balance things out.

Don't get me wrong, if we could get Randolph, Biedrins and Jordan Hill for Amare, I think that's by far the best offer we'll get. Some good young athletic pieces to build around, and we'd be able to acquire some other talent/picks with trading Nash as well. It would certainly be an interesting enough squad to entice a star down the road. I just don't see GS giving up that much as you speculate for a potential one and done.

That would give us something like...

Nash, Dragic
T-Mac, #7
Hill, Dudley
Biedrins, Landry, Amundson
Chandler, Lopez

Hello not playoffs!!

I think Amare and #14 for Biedrens and #7 is a bad deal for us... Throw in Randolph please!

Both organizations have already shot down the trade.
