My favorite play is the one where Bledsoe stands at the top of the arc dribbling from hand to hand until there are about 4 seconds left on the shot clock then dribbles into the lane surrounded by defenders and either throws an errant pass or manages to squirt out a wild shot that may or may not touch the rim.

To be fair I don't remember them running this play last night. Hmmmm...

Honestly, I've never seen that play. I've seen elements of that play many times but no, I've not seen him dribble out the first 20 seconds of the shot clock except for called plays at the end of a quarter. I have seen him over-dribble and I've seen him dribble into heavy traffic and I've seen him dribble casually on top only to have the ball knocked away and I've seen him make some horrible passes but I haven't seen the play you described.

Watch the Clippers, it happens a few times every game with Chris Paul. Or watch the Thunder, it happens at least a half dozen times every game with Westbrook. And so on. That's pretty common with scoring point guards, they are analyzing and probing the defense for soft spots, and sometimes they are just letting the other players jockey for position before they start their move. It's still a whole lot better than that last season or two of Charles where he'd use up most of the play clock trying to butt-bounce his way into a decent shot.

Steve

Yeah, that play almost made me quite basketball.

He doesn't dribble out the first 20 seconds. He usually gets set up there with about 10-12 seconds left on the clock.

And for the record, I really like Bledsoe. I think he's improving steadily. Last night he was All Star level for sure.

Well, right now, on this subject, I'd suggest less hyperbole and that's coming from someone who loves hyperbole. My reasoning is that the anti-Bledsoe faction is so vibrant that your hyperbole doesn't sound a whole lot different than their perceived truths. It makes for a very confused landscape.

I have mixed feelings. I think I'm going to cheer for Goran to score 30 points with a final score of Suns 148 - Heat 30.

Steve

I don't wish Goran any ill will but I hope Bledsoe buries him. Should be a great match up. These 2 guys obviously know each other rather well and I'm sure both have something to prove.

I think the bigger matchup will be between Dragic and Knight, not Dragic and Bledsoe. Knight is the one that was brought in as the replacement and the one that McD essentially said is better than Dragic. Knight and Dragic are the ones that had to get incorporated with a new team within the past week or so, not Bledsoe.

That's all true but according to Reggie Miller Dragic and Bledsoe fought (argued) in the locker room over who should be the starting point guard. We'll see.

I think Reggie got that wrong. My understanding is that the fight was between IT and Goran and one of the twins broke it up. I guess he could be talking about a different fight but that's the only one I knew about. It was precipitated by Goran complaining through the media about having to sacrifice for the team and IT firing back about how he was the only one that really had to make sacrifices.

He actually said something about "3 point guards fighting," but who knows what really happened.

Maybe they were fighting for the ball? Basically this, minus the smiles
