Unfortunately I don't think they are going to raise the white flag just yet. I'm hoping they realize that the playoffs are a very remote possibility and that they at least find a nice balance to their rotation while they fight their almost unwinnable fight. I look at our remaining 28 games and I figure that the team that suited up in November or even the last 2 weeks would be lucky to go 7 - 21. And that was back when I was expecting an easy win against Minnesota. Without Goran, 6 - 22 is a real possibility.
But hopefully we will be a lot better than the team that suited up in November. Not enough better to make the playoffs but perhaps we could come together well enough to win 10 to 12 of our remaining games. And that kind of finish would be a lot less painful if Goodwin, Bullock and Warren were logging at least 45 minutes a night.
Golden State, Memphis, Atlanta and Oklahoma City. Those are the only rosters (with staffs) that could step into our exact situation and still make the playoffs in the West IMO. Chicago, Toronto, Washington, Portland, Houston, San Antonio and the Clippers would all likely play noticeably better against this schedule than we will but it still would likely have them finishing no better than 9th.
That's what happens when you squander so many opportunities early in the season against a light schedule. So scrap the playoff dreams Jeff and let the young guys play.
