He attacks the basket, unlike most of our other players who stand and hoist 3's.
.
That's because he can't shoot.

His shots may be ugly but he is a decent shooter even while he was with the Hawks. That's because he can't shoot.
35% career 3pt % tells me otherwise.
Well, he certainly can't shoot this year, and 35% is certainly nothing to hang your hat on. I like Childress, but even if he contributes at a much higher level, he's still vastly overpaid. Any other former Babby clients we can overpay?
From 3-point range? That's definitely a good number. I suspect though that we're not talking about very many attempts.
It's decent, but again probably a limited sample size as you surmise. Again, we're talking about numbers from long ago. Who knows what he was doing in Europe. Nothing I've seen this year indicates that he'll even be a credible 3 point threat, let alone a mid range jumper threat. He's certainly an effective slasher, I just hope his finger injury is the reason he hasn't been able to hit the broad side of a barn in his limited minutes.
Who cares about the "sample size" (60 attempts per year on average). Hes shown that in his NBA career hes been able to hit 35% of his 3pt shots over multiple years. I dont see how anyone can justify judging childress with the type of leash hes been on since getting to phoenix.
. After all, he's 0-9 with the Suns.
I love how you are an advocate for the sample size being to small yet here you are pointing out hes 0-9 so far this year.
I thought I was the resident homer on the board. Thanks for taking the title from me.
Again, I (like you) like that he hit's 35% of his career 3-pointers. It's a nice number. But it's not as great as you think it is simply because he hasn't taken that many shots.
Yeah, he's 0-9, and if he really was shooting 35% on 3-pointers, that should be 3-9, right? With all this information, I'm not sure how you can infer that he's a good shooter.
Come on dude. I know you hate my guts from the ESPN days but I was just poking some fun. Either way, I think Josh hasnt gotten a fair shake and theres really no argument against that..................................................................................is there?

It isn't just that Childress is 0-9, or 0-10, or whatever it is during his time with the Suns. It's that the shots look so bad that it's hard to imagine one of them going in. I didn't see his shooting stroke when he made 35% back during his time with the Hawks, but there's no way it could have been this bad. Childress's shooting mechanic makes Shawn Marion look like Jerry West.
