Apparently the Suns have shopped him and he has little or no trade value. He does have value has a developing young player. Stix showed signs of being an NBA player.

The Suns still had money (partial MLE) and an open roster spot to make another move.

That’s more money we haven’t spent

Are the local reporters the last to know anything about the Suns anymore?

How stupid. You draft a player way higher than he’s supposed to go knowing he’s a project and you quit on him after pretty much a season

You extend him even if it’s just to make money match in a future trade or so the team trading for him will have him under contract.

This makes no sense at all basketball or business wise
This seems really dumb. Even if Suns have no intention of keeping him, I don't see how this doesn't hurt his trade value.

As bad as he has been so far there has to be some team that would trade something for him just for his potential.

I'm sure the Suns have explored this option.

That's no reason to give up on him as a player this early though.

He averaged 16/11 was first team in summer league and led it in rebounding

He averaged 9/8 in pre season he’s def showed signs.

Any word on Cam?

I haven't heard anything on Cam Johnson but it should be a foregone conclusion they pick up his option.

The delay is mystifying.

@Finito

The Thunder even picked up the option on Ty Jerome.

A friend of mine just brought up something pretty interesting even concerning Ayton not being extended

Contracts go under debt and liabilities and factor in when you sell a team. If this story is what it’s supposed to be and maybe Sarver knows his time is up he might be trying to maximize profits?

Sort of like the Suns trading Tom Gugliotta with first round picks to make the bottom line look better.

He’s been better than I thought. He’s a solid 3 guy at the end of the bench. Who would you rather have Jerome or Payton? I’m leaning Jerome.

My point is mainly that all Jerome needed was playing time.

He generally played poorly for the Suns and they gave up on him quickly much like Smith.

It's frustrating I had to put this in a search engine to find out the option for Cam Johnson was renewed.

The privacy of the Suns organization is baffling at times.

Kevin Love has entered health and safety protocols.

I can't help but wonder if this effects the Suns as they just played the Cavaliers and reportedly there was much hugging pregame.

Because this is a poorly ran organization

The Suns have paid big dollars to Paul, Booker, Bridges and hopefully will pay Ayton.

We are going to see more of this.

The Suns will likely not pay Cam Johnson big dollars unless they are projecting Paul coming off the books.

That’s fine. Playoffs 1 time in over a decade doesn’t make us the New England Patriots.

Let’s see how all this plays out. I just hope we get a young tech billionaire owner

Suns apparently don't think Stix is in their future and they must have no takers. According to this they are going to let Stix walk. Not shocked by this one bit. I have seen nothing out of him to indicate he could crack a rotation on a regular basis. The Suns work with this kid daily so they know what they have.

I think it more the Suns cannot find a trade partner for Jalen Smith rather than he doesn't have a future in the NBA.

The Suns will likely try to use him in a trade as an expiring contract for a team that has interest in him with the Suns looking for an expiring contract in return or second round picks.

A contract like Thad Young ($14,190,000 expiring) has to be attractive to the Suns.

I think it's both. Jalen has shown nothing resembling being a steady enough contributor or rising talent to crack the lineup on a regular basis. If the Suns had even a hint that was possible for Jalen I bet they try and hang on to him.

I with you on the Suns needing an owner with deep pockets.
