I think they should treat it like any other contagious illness. If you're sick, stay home, when you feel better, come back.

I think the protocols served a purpose and the danger was real, but these new variants are not worth special treatment.
It's not so much about the variants but unlike other diseases people that are vulnerable still can't get the vaccine protection from ANY of the variants.

Why isn’t Jones in the EOTY conversation? Adding McGee, Holiday, Biyombo, Wainright, Shamet and Craig, while giving up almost nothing, is really impressive. He has made big improvements to a team that went to the Finals last year, which is no easy task.

Admittedly, he did screw up by declining the option on Smith.

I don't believe EOTY is an official NBA award. I believe it's similar to the coach of the year award Monty just received from the coaches association.

I looked it up and it was handled by Sporting News from 1972-2009 and then the NBA officially recognized it and started awarding it themselves based on ballots from the 30 executives in the league. So its a little different of a pool of voters than the player awards.

It typically goes to teams who make big changes or have a big turnaround. I can see JJ not getting it simply because he didn't lock up Ayton as well, which is something I'm sure other executives would consider when voting. I'd bet it goes to Memphis this year.

I can certainly see him not getting it, but he should be in the conversation.

Observation:

Almost all our loses came in a few short bursts.

The 1-3 start to the season, which I will write off to the team adjusting to each other.

The post Christmas Covid burst after the Warriors infected us.

The brief stretch when Paul, Cam Payne and Holiday were all injured or unavailable after the AS game.

The end of the season when we had nothing on the line and were resting people.

Outside of those moments the Suns ran long winning streaks, with only a handful of loses sprinkled in.

The last time the Suns lost a game that had any meaning AND were healthy was Feb 3rd.

I'm not sure if these award finalists have been posted. MVP finalists. No Devin Booker.

Booker should absolutely be a finalist. He is the best player on the best team in the league. I hope this pisses him off and he goes crazy in the playoffs... like 25, 8, and 8 crazy while leading the Suns to the championship. I am sick and tired of this garbage- wins matter when they benefit certain players, but they don't matter when it would benefit other players. He should get the nod for the all-NBA first team at least.

Monty and Mikal should win. Glad to see Cam get some recognition, though I think we can all agree Herro is going to win that one.

Pretty good start tonight for Book. He missed some contested ones that I think he forced but 8 assists and 1 turnover, that’ll work. 50% from 3. He’s just gotta play in the flow of the offense. He better be first team all-nba.

Mikal I don’t think will win DPOY for some reason. His “metrics” in certain areas aren’t ideal and I don’t think he’s the “sexy” candidate that Smart is. Smart is an irritant and very loud while Gobert is always in the media because he’s so divisive in terms of his impact. Is he the best one on one defender, absolutely. Pels shot 2/16 against his defense….but idk why I feel like he’s gonna get short changed.

It's totally unfair. Marcus Smart only played in 71 games this past regular season.

We know how many games Mikal Bridges played.

It might be a blessing in disguise. Does anyone know if DPOY escalators are attached to Mikal's contract?
