I actually like the stat (or any of the adjusted versions) quite a bit but it's useless for any one game. And even over an extended period of time, it can be misleading.

I usually don't pay much much attention to +/- during a game but I was paying attention to it last night for some unknown reason. Better trust my eyes and the more basic stats in the box score.

Does anyone here know if Bledsoe has asthma or something like that? He just seems to struggle often in altitude and he a waste of space last night.

Something was wrong with Bledsoe last night. I like your thought better than others for an explanation. I don't know the answer.

Yeah, on a nightly basis it can be very misleading. But if you look at it or RAPM for an entire season, it typically shows you exactly what you'd expect to see. The best players are at or near the top and the worst ones are dwelling in the cellar.

I have no idea if my "thought" has any bearing on the situation. I know I've had to explain away horrible performances by Bledsoe in the past and both Utah and Denver come to mind.

Given that Mexico City has an even greater elevation than any of our NBA cities, I could see it coming into play for someone with asthma, bronchitis or any number of conditions. In fact, even the wrong nutritional makeup can make it difficult to adjust short term to altitude, specifically diets high in sodium. But maybe Eric just decided to take a night off? Who knows?

I will have to give it a look.

I don't think Eric took a night off. He tried to drive to the basket but he was unable to explode to the rim. Instead, he looked to make contact for free throws. I guess we will know more when the Suns play the Spurs in Mexico City tomorrow. I will especially be watching if some rest at that altitude makes a difference.

Altitude vs. attitude. Hmmm. :)

I'm glad that Booker is starting to regain his shooting stroke.

Does anyone else notice though that Booker plays much better in the 2nd half of every game? Especially the 4th quarters? Feels like he's had a bunch of big 4th quarters this season.

Part of it is due to the fact that the opposing team usually empties their 4th stringers into the game in the 4th qtr against us because they already have a sizable enough lead but that's not always the case.

No. I have clearly noticed stamina issues with Bledsoe over the years. It looks like he runs out of wind. One of the things that make/made players like Westbrook, Marion, and Nash great was their ability to just keep going at high speed without getting winded. Bledsoe is not one of those players.

I do not know if it is conditioning or some physical issue like you said. But it is a real thing.

That's not true the Suns have rarely been blown out this year. We have been very competitive this year. He just has it in him when it's crunch time he just takes over

Part of the reason it may not seem like we've been blown out is because we do well in the 4th quarters when the opposing empties the bench so the score looks respectable at the end.

Of course, leave it to you to insult the Suns even when there is proof of a strength.

Proof of a strength for a 12 win team. Yeah leave it to me to dismantle all that proof of strength.

:biglaugh:

Unlike you, I don't just show up randomly every now and then, I'm a masochist that puts myself through the torture of watching almost every single game.

The Suns have 13 wins. Perhaps you missed a win?

If you watch the Suns regularly I don't see how you can't get excited about Booker, Chriss, Bender and Ulis.

The Suns are showing flashes of a bright future.

Wow, that's quite presumptuous of you. Because if we're playing that game, it appears to me that you don't watch any of the games. You just spout every bad thing that comes into your head regardless of its accuracy.

But hey, it's the internet, right?

Its not even accurate anyway. The Suns have blown a lot of fourth quarter leads and 2nd worst 4th quarter team in the league in terms of score differential. But... hey, sf88 has always been short on facts and fast on trolling.

I'm definitely excited about Booker and Ulis. Chriss and Bender are raw but their showing some promise as well.

These young players are indeed exciting but I'm hoping for a lot more from Bender, Chriss and Ulis. However, they have not disappointed. Booker is looking like a potential superstar with every passing game.
