I was watching the Cards game, but from the game summary, wasn't Mayo guarding Barbosa when he got 16 in the 4th? Mayo had 19 in the quarter, he's clearly showing the half court sets at USC held him back offensively, but that's the 2nd time he's been lit up defensively(Kevin Martin recently too) of late.

he's going to be really good, you can't teach what he can do offensively. I'm still surprised at how small he really is, he's nowhere near 6'5", in college it wasn't nearly as obvious as it is now.

2nd item.....STOP FREAKING TURNING THE BALL OVER. Holy $@!#$ turnovers are killing this team. We play a more effecient offense and are turning the ball over more this year then last.

Not turning the ball over is part of playing an efficient offense. When you turn it over, the offense is by definition less efficient. When everyone handles the ball, there will be more turnovers, but hopefully not this many. Just check out the asst/turnover ratios of the suns, terrible, the only one above 2 is nash. last year diaw was like 2.6 or so. they are all adjusting, but the suprise is that grant hill, who runs the second unit offense, has a terrible A/TO ratio.

Ugly win but a win just the same. First off welcome back Barbosa. Was starting to wonder if he could play in this system.

Efficient offenses, dont turn the ball over.

the suns have a terrible A/To ratio in this offense, just terrible. Gee maybe thats because turnover prone players handle the ball more. Porter often runs the offense through shaq, who has a 0.69 A/To ratio. Hill has a 1.15 A/To ratio, pretty sad. Hard to see how this will be efficient, so far.

So far these susn are just a different flavor, outrebounding opponents by 2, giving up 4.5 turnovers more. Opponents are shooting 45%, actually higher than during the last 30 games with shaq last year.

What I mean by efficient is their play calling strategy. Supposedly the Suns use a more defined and strategic method of calling plays versus chuck it up in 7 seconds. You would think with better shot selection there would be less chance for turnovers.

That is not turning out to be the case. I had not looked up the numbers that you posted. Shaq is going to be hard to minimize because of how many times they are going to throw the ball down to him. Hill can be avoided. Stop the Point Forward crap with Hill I guess???

I don't know what the solution is but if this teams averages 15 to 18 turnovers going into the playoffs, I think we all know how that will go.

The suns have alot of players that dont shoot well late in the shot clock. These are generally guys who dont create their own shot very well, eg, Raja, Barnes, LB(decisionmaking problem). These are this years stats. Diaw amare nash do fine late in the shot clock, its at 82games.com. Over the last 2 days both bell and nash have commented that the suns were "built to run" and they are having problems with the half court sets. this maybe part of the reason for the To's.
