That was an amazing play by Bender- set a perfect pick for Reed to get an uncontested mid-range jumper.

Reed seems like he's been playing in the NBA for a while now.

Mike James quietly had a nice game with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals and 0 turnovers.

James played with the Suns in summer league a couple of years ago, went to Europe and now he back with the Suns.

I think he would make a nice 3rd PG.

Fox's quickness did not seem to bother him much.

Chriss played like he didn't want to be there, which is kinda sad he still needs to work on his game.

Ullis is missed with this unit.

Jackson did look to comfortable with his jumpshot, but when he shot his turn around it looks smooth.

Yea and james had that nice dunk! Noticed he had quick feet on def also be cool to see him in a real gm in the future.

Jackson looked solid know he want be a offensive weapon that much but good arm length and quickness.

Also fox looked solid for the kings but dont mind suns taking jackson he fills a much bigger role.

Remember when we played Christmas over James.

Not high on Bender still.

Chriss might have bulked up too much. Not sure what was going on.

Good first showing by Jackson and Reed.

Fox is good.
Everyone's laughing at Ball right now.

This was a good game for the Suns. It may be a Summer League game, but Sac has a ton of young talent on that team. It was good to see us go head to head with them.

Assessments:

Josh Jackson. Looked solid on D as advertised. He's always in plays. Looks like they told him to shoot a ton tonight which makes sense. Yes, his shot is a problem. He has to Pippenize it. You could see that barely average defenders were giving him problems. But he does everything else well. Good passer, good rebounder, good driver, and good finisher.

Dragan Bender. He played pretty much like we expected: likes to shoot 3's and a good defender. He gave the team some life. Had some embarrassing moments dribbling the ball. But he looks more confident and had his heart in the game. Nice to see him connect on his 3's.

Marquis Chriss. I wouldn't play him the next two games. His demeanor is awful. Wouldn't box out. Wouldn't get back when calls didn't go his way. Complained with his shoulders hunched the entire night. He should be embarrassed when he watches his film. He looked like an entitled spoiled brat. I'm concerned that his attitude will effect the rest of the team. Also, Booker essentially indirectly called him out when he said he needs to stop settling for 3's. The guy needs to get his butt in the post and help his team. He really has some nice post play... WHEN HE'S ACTUALLY DOWN THERE. (I think he almost fouled out too). Cooley outplayed him tonight.

Davon Reed. That's pretty much who he was at Miami. He is a smooth shooter and a passionate defender. But he's so much more than that. The guy has game. All Around Game. Anyone notice him leading from the floor. He's an encouraging player to his teammates. Anyone else notice Booker raving about him. He made smart passes, had his hands active defensively, hit big shots (for SL), and lifts up his teammates. He's already a steal.

DJJ will have a hard time making this team. Reed is better. Far better.

Cooley was bothersome, but Chriss was our leading scorer and rebounder tonight. He wasn't outplayed by Cooley. I agree with your assessment of his attitude, but you're off base in his importance to the win. IMO
