Plumlee with 15 and 16. Please say something about that. :D
Plumlee did hang in there vs. Cousins' 25 & 18. With our starting Guards scoring 45 vs. theirs, 31, the starting C and G positions were pretty much a wash. And still we lost.

The problem is that Cousins plays like that all the time. Plumlee with 15 & 16 is sporadic. You don't build for the future by coming through sporadically. When Plumlee averages even 15 & 10, I'll "say something". Is that fair? :)

If the Suns feel that Bledsoe is their guy, they really need to trade Dragic now. There is no chance he stays if he continues to be treated like this. Might as well get something for him before they lose him for nothing next summer.

On the other hand, if the Suns feel that Dragic is their guy . . .

Even if it would be good to trade one or the other now, we don't know if Bledsoe can play a full season before breaking down.

My vote -- trade Bledsoe to the Cavs to be with his Big Brother. The sooner the better, so Dragic can return to lead Point Guard, which he was brought back to be. And with IT backing him up, it could be the best 48 minute PG combo in the League.

The greediness of three Point Guards who want playing time has its drawbacks, which we are seeing.

Suns are doing a terrible job of selling me on this three-headed point guard monster. 3 wins, two of which coming against the garbage time Lakers.

Not impressed

I agree with you- I would take Dragic over Bledsoe any day of the week, and twice on Sunday, but I think the Suns disagree. If they thought Dragic was their guy, he would have had the ball in his hands in the 4th quarter and in the OT.

Bledsoe is turnover prone and Dragic is one of the worst clutch free throw shooters in the league (for guards). I don't know who I give it to.

I know last season Bledsoe rated as one of the top clutch guards in the league... and Dragic rated among the worst.

Unfortunately tonight was a double choke job by bascially the entire team. Really disappointing to see Thomas laid an egg tonight. I only managed to catch the 4th quarter on so I didn't really see him play, but I gotta think all the talk between him and his former teammates got into his head.

Sacramento must have a new coach... they are not playing like the Sac team of the last few years. So far they are easily the surprise team in the West.

hahahaha

Yeah they are so mistreating him, call the Red Cross, call UNICEF please.

Fact is he is shooting under 20% outside of layups. He needs to pull his head out of his ass.

They are loaded with talent. If/when the light goes off for McLemore, McCallum and Stauskas they could well be contending. Just Gay and Cousins playing up to their talent level already puts them near the elite. Malone has done a nice job there in his short run (2nd year). IIRC, he was voted the top assistant coach in the league when he was under Mark Jackson and I think he was the first one to leave there with rumors of conflict between him and the street preacher.

That and just losing his grandfather. He never looked fully engaged to me but I might have been reading into the situation.

I wouldn't go that far, but it is worth noting that the Kings beat the Suns last night in spite of Gay's horrible shooting (5-22).

If it came to a choice based on just that . . . every possession is a potential turnover for Bledsoe.

Only the times at the free throw line is a potential miss for Dragic.

Check the stats, Steve. I think you'd be surprised. Goran's career free-throw per game performance is 2.3 made out of 3.1 attempted. That's .750.

In six games this season, it is 3.5 made out of 3.8 attempted. 21 made out of 23 attemped. That's .913.

One of the worst in the league? Not this season.

If you read my post again you'll notice that you missed a very important word. But I'm not even going to post his CLUTCH free throw shooting stats, they are too embarrassing. Let's just say that if he shoots them at a .45% clip this season, it will be an improvement.

And, Steve, mine referred to free throw (including clutch free throw) stats as a drop in the bucket compared to turnovers which can happen, not just a few times per game, but on every play.

If I had to choose between keeping a Point Guard who's missed some clutch free throws vs. a turnover prone Point Guard (and I think it will come to that), my choice is clearly the one who is not prone to turnovers.

By the way, my friend, .45% is less than half of one percent. Even I could do better than that. :)

Edit: I just saw Eric's post about the math.

You mean 1 out of 222? That doesn't sound right.

Yeah, that's really bad huh? He should really work on his clutch free throws or I should lose the period or the "percent". Anyway, he makes fewer than half his clutch free throws.

But we weren't talking about which player to keep. That's a different conversation and I really don't know which way I'd come down right now. We were talking about who we should give the ball to in a clutch situation. Eric wins hands down or at least he did last year. This year, neither one of them can be counted on in the clutch.

Bledsoe has to be able to penetrate to be effective and with no spacing he's a turnover machine when he drives the lane. Goran, minus his outside shot, has no clue what to do when the lane closes, just look at our final play in regulation. Unfortunately, Thomas doesn't seem to make very good decisions either at the close of periods. We don't seem to have a good choice right now, one of them is just going to have to get better at it.

How will one of our three Point Guards get better at it? As soon as the team can get used to one of them being "the man". Chemistry builds confidence.

This is not their fault. Any of the three. It is the fault of the Front Office. Until they rectify it, or until one of the three goes down with an injury (as last season when Goran rose to the top), we're losing valuable time.

I really hope that Horny looks in the mirror every day and says, "When are they going to take this 3-headed curse off my back and let me coach a functional team?" I am!

Oh... I was unaware of that one. Yeah, no wonder he didn't have his best outing last night.

I thought the Kings would regret letting IT go....quite the opposite actually.
