NICE game, really nice. Too bad that they might get blown up this summer. This squad has been entertaining.

I hate Gentry's rotation for playing Nash the entire 3rd again. For a moment when Shaq sat and they needed double teaming Yao, he shoulda sat Nash too and let the fresh legs do the rotating recovering of open shooters. Now Nash is spent again, we will fade against the end of 4th and lose the game again!

Good call Cly! You should try to enjoy the games instead of trying to pick apart the team or Nash everytime you can. Nash is a baller and still one of the best PG's in the league why you can't accept that he is not a defensive juggernaut is beyond me. YOu act as though their are a bunch of MVP type point guards out there that play really good defense, when its just not the case!

If they don't knock down all the damn 3's they hit this game wouldn't have even been that close.

If [insert team] didn't [make or miss] all the damn [insert any stat line that gave team points] they [made or missed] this game wouldn't have even been [relative score difference from game].

It's like mad libs, but for the excruciatingly obvious!

Don't you see I was praising Nash the whole night? Nash surprised me with his energy, but still my criticism on Gentry for not being cautious with time management for Nash's min. was justified, given how he played in previous games. Like I said, with energy he wouldn't be that TO prone on offense and could stay with his man on defense as much as possible to buy some valuable time for his teammates to react and cover for him. Without pointing out potential problems with Nash, how could I criticize Gentry for his substitution plan? Yet, you freak out upon hearig any mention of Nash's energy or defense, even when it's within the context of praise for him?:D

Cly I thought Gentrys use of him was needed as when he was resting him for along time in the 3rd thats when the rockets came back and took the lead! Nash had a great game and the Suns beat a good Rockets team that was on fire from 3pt land and we were not. To me it just proves we still need Nash unless somehow we got another top 10 PG, until then Nash should stay and someone else (Amare) should be dealt!

the problem with Nash is, he rarely has such kind of sustained energy throughout a game nowaday. Were he to keep playing this way, we were definitely not going in lottery like we seem now, and we wouldn't even be in discussion of trading him this offseason.

Nash can get his shot off anytime he wants he defers trying to make the team better which for the most part works. This team is where it is because we had a crap ass coach waste half a season before we started speeding things up. This seasons short comings is on the FO mainly not the players IMO!

Whoa, back up there.

I have my issues with Nash just like anyone, but let's be honest here. The reason why we're not in the playoffs is primarily because of Terry Porter. His system didn't work from the start, and instead of changing the system, he tried to alter the lineups to suit it. Which STILL didn't work.

We probably were never going to be title contenders, but we'd definitely be a sure playoff team if Gentry was the coach from day 1. Don't put the blame on Nash.

Also, my guess is that the Suns would be considering trading Nash anyway. One of this board's standard misconceptions is that you trade only players you don't like. That's not true at all. You trade players who are worth more to someone else than they are to you, so that you can make better use of your resources.

Nash can't/won't play well on a team that stresses defense and carefully run set offensive plays all the time. Which was exactly what Porter was supposed to be trying to add to the team. Nash knew his game suffered and so I don't think he was 100% for the change Kerr brought his pal Porter here to do. The team was divided. Weren't they making unity collages for some reason?

How could Kerr know Nash couldn't play well this way without trying it? Nash is so frickin coordinated and smart you might assume he can do well this way too. Now we know.

It is not ALL Porter's fault. Seven seconds or Shaq would have been the key if they had found it while Porter was here. I think Porter helped eventhough he was fired. The team got alot of practice running structured plays during games which is what most good teams run at the end of tight games. Having Nash make something out of a broken play is a gift most point guards cant do. But D'antoni was a fool and had Nash freelance too much. Predictable if you know it's coming.

Don't you all remember the Alamoooooooooooooo???????? ok San Antonio a well coached team out performing us on defense and offense in the last 4 minutes of close games. The ones we won were the ones we were just on fire shooting. Nash dribbles around and around and around someone is not open, we put up a well contested shot. That was our end of game offense. And if Nash is pressured, beat on by Bowen most of the game and overplayed by his coach up to that point, he is even less effective. The games where he could still hit shots at the end proved his nerves/balls of steel, so he will be in the HOF.

So whose fault is it that the Suns miss the playoffs?

AMARE'S if he doesn't go down with the eye injury, no way we lose 6 in a row and we are pressuring Dallas or higher with our full power Seven Seconds or Shaq Offense with just a little bit more defense and rebounding from a deeper bench this year. And everyone is anticipating a tough series if they go against the Suns.

Another year down the drain...Thanks to D'antoni and Sarver being on the same page regarding draft picks, we have no bargain superstars playing on their 1st contracts so we pay big for JRich and Nash and Amare and Shaq. We shouldn't even have Grant Hill. Nash is an ironman though. He has played what, 5 years now without a backup.
Dragic maybe next year if Nash is still here.

Suns' story is a tragic comedy. Maybe next year.

My personal opinion is that the Suns are smarter and better than the Spurs but our coach wasn't and Popovich exploited any advantage fair or not because his guys weren't smart enough to go toe to toe or free lance and be as successful. They beat us with a well practiced rehearsed system. D'antoni took an unpredictable offense and guard and made it predictible.

Stubborn mule headded coach. Even Rocky was smart enough to switch styles against Clubber Lang for the rematch, D'antoni's strategy is we will do what we did last year and the year before. Spurs are playing their "defense" against us again. Coach D' how will you counter San Antonio this year? "We'll just go out there and run and see what happens."
