Non-guaranteed contracts released to prevent them from becoming guaranteed.

Nothing to see here.

Although the Suns may be bringing in other 10 day contract players (or perhaps the same) that may have a chance to stick.

I like the thought the Suns are clearing room on their roster for a trade a much more interesting idea.

Too bad Cotton couldn't fit in somehow. I loved watching him play at Providence in college

As the Suns roster is down to 13 players, really only 12 players with Bledsoe out, I wonder if the Suns might consider bringing back center Henry Sims on a 10 day contract plus a PG. Actually the Suns may only have 11 available players if they do not intend to play Markieff any more.

He might get a ten day contract with the Suns because the Suns will need another PG for sure.

I'm not even sure why we gave him some actual game time over Goodwin, least Goodwin could score or draw some fouls.

Where Mike James? He was exciting to watch in summer league.

I don't think he's really an NBA level player. I'm not really sure why Goodwin isn't getting minutes. He doesn't bring much to the table right now but it confounds me that we extended him and then mostly benched him. He's a longshot to make it but this seems like the perfect time to take that longshot.

I know its semantics but I keep reading people claim we "extended" Goodwin. We picked up his option, its not an extension, and if we'd rejected his option he'd still be on our roster this year anyway, as contract options on rookie deals have deadlines a year in advance.

And his contract is miniscule; as lack luster as he has been a rookie has to be somewhere between "god awful" and "prison inmate" in order to have their rookie options not picked up.

You're right, I have a tendency to say "extension" and that's inaccurate. And as you say, his contract is minor and his future is likely limited. Why keep him on the roster at all though if you're not going to give him any time on the court? I guess there's always a chance we have a deal in place for him in the near future.

After watching some highlights of Lorenzo Brown in NBDL, he might become a quality pick-up.

He seemed quite effortless in both scoring and distributing. I know, it's D-League but he also was a borderline 1st rounder from NC State and their 2nd best player behind Warren and ahead of CJ Leslie.

Right, he was exciting to watch though...and i thought the Suns had a a thing for small point guards. The guy can jump though, I mean if we are going to bring in some scrubs to play a game or two, then why not bring in someone who can get some "oohs" and "aahs".

I know what you mean. He was a lot of fun to watch at times in Summer League. But that's much more hero ball than team ball and if we're going to go that route I'd just as soon see Archie playing.
