I hear what you are saying, but I disagree with it. It can be as patriotic as you make it. Nothing makes me angrier at a sporting even when someone doesn't respect it, either by not standing or removing a hat, when it is played. I'm a military brat, so I probably have a different viewpoint than a lot of other people.

I too grew up in a military family, my pappy was in the Air Force. My reasoning isn't out of disrespect, more that its over saturation. Perhaps more people would be stirred by the anthem if they didn't hear it so often.

We'll agree to disagree on this one. I just think, especially today, that the anthem can and does mean a lot. Considering how divided we are and how much hatred flows amongst Americans, I think it does more good than harm.

“If Jeff tells us, ‘Go out and run through a brick wall,’ you’ll see all 14 running our asses off to go run through a brick wall.” - Gerald Green
On a lighter note, I wonder if that brick wall is made up of all the Point Guards who are hogging the minutes on the court. Maybe everyone from Len to Green should run their asses through it. :D
