I live in Chicago ans was talking to a friend that would like to go to the Super Bowl but thought there was no way to get tickets without be scalped alive.
I told her of this forum and said I would ask around.

First off, I don't know how SB tickets work for season ticket holders. That being said , if there is anybody out there that are entitled to tickets but do not intend to purchase them or go to the game, would you be willing to sell them? Also , do you know what the tickets are selling for at face value.
I can vouch for my friend . She is not trying to obtain tickets to resell them for a profit.

Thanks in advance for any imformation and replys.

I believe face value is $700 and good luck getting them for less than $2500 from scalpers. I believe if you have non-corner club tickets (and bought a group of 4 for a 10 year lease) you get an opportunity to buy 2. If you hear of a way to get them for less than $2500 let ME know!

I thought that every season ticket holder's name is put in a drawing for the opportunity to either win or purchase Super Bowl tickets. Does anyone else know about this?

Only a specific number of tickets will be allotted to Cardinals season ticket holders. During the 2007 season, the Cardinals will conduct a weighted lottery to determine which season ticket holders will be able to purchase Super Bowl XLII tickets. The lottery will be weighted based on the number of years an individual has held season tickets and the number of tickets in the account. It's no surprise that season tickets for the first season in the new Cardinals Stadium sold out in early 2006. There is a waiting list for cancellations and accounts that aren't paid. Remember--having season tickets still doesn't guarantee that you'll get Super Bowl tickets.

If you don't have season tickets that are selected in the lottery, the only way to purchase Phoenix Super Bowl tickets will be through a ticket broker or from scalpers/ticket exchanges.

Yes I know about the lottery which doesn't give you a shot in hell, but had heard that the center club level holders with a 4 block, got the opportunity to buy 2. Maybe that was just heresay

no - i'm not sure on the specifics, but club holders that met certain criteria and long term obligation were guaranteed an opportunity to buy SB tickets

the cardinals will probably skim that from the leagues season ticket allotment leaving an even smaller chance for the general lottery

Why would anyone that received tickets, and didn't plan on going, not scalp.

My Brother-In-Law has Baltimore Ravens season tickets & won 2 tickets in their lottery back in 2000. Since he's married with 2 boys, it would have caused too much friction if he had to make a choice. So he sold the tickets for like $3000 apiece & took the family to Disney World for a week. If I were forced to sell the tickets, I would take the family to the Super Bowl city & go to a million parties.

I got drawn in the lottery for the first SB in AZ. I can't remember the exact date they notified me. Like was said earlier it looks like the skimmed tickets to bribe club level to obligate for a certain amount of time so there will be much less chance this time.

If I won the lotto for SB tickets, and the Cards weren't playing in it, I would sell them in a heartbeat, and it wouldn't be for face value. :)

I was awarded Super Bowl ticket to the game in Detroit a couple years ago. I went and saw the Steelers win. It was a great experience. I paid $700 for each ticket and could have sold them on Ebay for $2,500 each.

Some experiences are better than money.

Maybe, but for me this would not have been one of them. Sold to the highest bidder.

The way I see it, you're trading a $700 experience (if that's what you value watching a live Super Bowl) for a $2,500 experience doing something else.

If I win the ticket lotter, which I'm sure I won't, there's no way I wouldn't sell 'em.

It was actually a $1400 investment that he could have turned into a $3600 profit.

Can you say Mediterranean Cruise?

I might have kept them if two teams I actually can stand were involved.

You realize that every one of these "high bidders" who is buying your tickets is a person willing to pay $5,000 to go to the Super Bowl. Just because you wouldn't want to spent that doesn't mean somebody else won't.

People value experience differently, people value money differently. I do fairly well on the money front so I could care less about the cash.

If any of you are awarded the Super Bowl tickets this season for the Cardinals stadium, I'll buy them off you. Send me a PM.

Every person attending Super Bowl XLII at University of Phoenix Stadium is required to have a ticket, regardless of age.

The demand for tickets to Super Bowl XLII greatly exceeds our ability to accommodate the majority of our fans interested in attending. Most tickets are made available through the two teams competing in the game, and to a lesser extent through each of the other NFL teams. Remaining tickets for the general public are made available through a random drawing. There is no other means for the general public to purchase tickets. The NFL does not sell tickets to travel or ticket agents.

The deadline to enter the random drawing was June 1, 2007. The raffle drawing will be conducted by the NFL in mid-September, and winners will be notified by mid-November.

However, if you are still looking for a way to get tickets to the game, members of the Super Bowl XLII Membership Club will be entered into a drawing to win 2 tickets in January as well as other monthly prizes.

Click here for more information about the Membership Club and your chance to win tickets to Super Bowl XLII.

But this is if you want to buy them from the league not the Cardinals, right?

yes...just letting the people know that you dont have to be associated with any team to have a shot in getting tickets. But as you can see....you have to apply early.

If the Cards make the Super Bowl,i'll likely be getting free tix to the game. My wife(girlfriend at the time), got me 4 free tix to see the White Sox in Chicago for the World Series and last year, we had 4 free final 4 tix to see the Buckeyes. Now all the Cards have to do is get there.
