I thought in that one they just implied what was going on (Wasn't that when Dean went ballistic on a vampire?)

No, it was an opening before the title screen comes up. Just some guy working in his garage, and some entity pushes him back onto his running table saw. I work with that show a lot, and man, I couldn't BELIEVE they showed that.

Oh yeah, you're right. That WAS brutal!

I really like this show. IMO it's the closest thing on TV to a Buffy/Angel type show. This show is more dark then either of those but still has humor. Also, I love the edgy language and the occasional "splatter". This show has always teetered on the edge on a few fronts.

Totally agree. I also love that this show genuinely has the ability to give me the creeps or raise the hairs on my arms. I've never watched a tv show that comes as close to this at delivering scares each week.

Glad it'll be back for season 4.

Speaking of season 4, I thought you might find this interesting.

http://www.buddytv.com/articles/supernatural/supernatural-season-4-faces-bu-18788.aspx

Looks like the executives told Kripke to open things up and make it on a grander scale. So, we got the whole demon war and the episode Magnificent 7. Now, they're not so thrilled with the big budget and want it scaled back.

Honestly, I like the smaller scale approach better anyway. Keeping things on the smaller scale keeps it more real to me, and fosters more of a connection with the audience and the peril that they're in.

New episode tonight.

http://www.cwtv.com/shows/supernatural

It looks like it's going to be a return to Dean's deal with the devil story line...and the possible return of their Dad. Doesn't look too have many "jumps and bumps" but it should be interesting to see what their Dad's got to say and I'm looking forward to seeing how they get Dean out of his bargain.

Wow, I didn't expect that to happen to Bella...at least not this quickly. I guess that all explains why she delved into dark art items to begin with.

Good episode. Nice ethical battle they had about immortality and I can't think of a better ending for the doc.

I'm really looking forward to next week!

I think the thing with Bella and the hell hounds was to give the audience something to think about as Dean gets close to his deadline. It also reveals why she really stole the colt.

Finale should be awesome.

Finale was good one last night. Lots of questions about the finale though

Yes it was! And yes there are! Very suspenseful and while the previews made you think something might happen, I did not expect that ending. My wife and both had some elevated blood pressure/heart rates during this one.

So, Dean is dead, and being tortured in hell. Sam subconsciously stopped Lilith from being able to hurt him but missed his chance to kill her.

I'm guessing that Sam and Ruby are going to have to work together to somehow bring Dean back. But how that's even possible I don't know. Maybe they'll catch Lilith and make a deal that they'll let her live if she brings Dean back?

My wife thought that maybe if they kill Lilith the contracts she holds will be void and those people in hell will be free. But that doesn't exactly bring you back to life though. And what type of body is there to come back to anyway? He was mauled to death (and again, the producers didn't shy away from making that gruesome).

I thought it was a spectacular episode. This has been consistently the best show on the network, so we are very happy it's coming back for a full run next year.

I'm SOOO glad they didn't take the high road and save Dean at the last minute. The whole Hellraiser ending was perfect for this show.

My thought is that Sam will first try to find wherever Lilith stashed Ruby, and then Ruby, Sam (and Bobby, let's not forget him) will go after Lilith. I wonder if Sam is immune to just Lilith or all magically enhanced demons? Could he recruit "good" demons like Ruby to his cause? Can you imagine that? That would take the war to another level--demon vs. demon to save Dean. Whoa.

THAT would make for a very interesting season 4. My thought though, is that they can't wait too long to bring him back one way or another. Maybe 2-3 episodes at the most I would think.

It would but don't expect to many FX heavy episodes. Supernatural got a major budget cut into next season and they said most of the season will be smaller "intimate" episodes on a smaller scale. The CW is having issues.

Agree though that this show rocks.

Season premiere is September 18th. Set your DVRs!

If you haven't watched this show yet, and you like genuine suspense and horror, you need to. It's quite possibly the best kept secret on the air (and infinitely better than Fear Itself).

Awesome.

I just finished the season after the repeats started up.

There is a conflict on my DVR twixt this show, Office, and Grey's Anatomy.

Wife won't budge on Grey's so this will be the first and last week I watch this show when it's new. I'll have to wait until next Aug/Sep again. Sucks.

I have to say, this episode is spectacular. One of the best setups to a season I've ever seen--we're talking Lost-quality here. Strap in and get ready for a hell of a ride! (Pun intended) :)

The wife and I really enjoyed last night's episode. It answered the questions popped up in last years finale and also added some good twists to the relationships. Very interesting character with Castiel. The only concern I have is that the story of Supernatural has always had a "the little guy" vs "insurmountable odds" feel to it for me. The odds have always been stacked against them, which made each episode have a nervousness of "how are they going to get out of this alive?" It also made the scares jump up quite a bit. Given what's developed with Sam, and given the introduction of Castiel, are they now basically bullet proof, thereby removing the feel of danger for them?

It could be interesting to see if Sam (who's working with a demon) ends up in an apocalyptic battle with Dean (who's working with an angel apparently) but I'm hoping that's not the direction they're going with this.

Concerning your spoiler I think it would make a great story line.

You know the whole power corrupts type thing. Just think about it. Why would the angle be aligning himself with Dean and not the more powerful Sam. But then again this whole angel thing could just be a trick and the power that Sam has is the real deal from God instead. Could be the real switch a roo that suspensful type shows like to pull out of there hats. A battle between those two not knowing who is right and who is wrong might make for a great season ending story line. Leading to the next season hopefully where they try and get there relationship back together. Anyways I think that the angel guy is really Lucifer, Lucifer was an angel after all.

Interesting idea Joe. That could work but:

Part of the big appeal of this show is Sam and Dean's relationship. Having the two of them fighting each other would take out a lot of the humor and heart that perfectly counter balances the horror and darkness most of the plots revolve around. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good story but I think it would too drastically change what's kept the show going and what's drawn people into it. If it's more of a cliff hanger deal to end the season then I'd be all for it. Like they realize that they're on opposite sides and "what's going to happen?" Regardless, I'm sure that Kripke has it all mapped out and we're going to enjoy the ride.

Glad to see you here posting about Supernatural, it needs more love. :)

Very cool twist concerning their Moms past.

Intersting episodes coming up with Dean finding about about Sams extracurricular activities.

This show has been spectacular this season. It's too bad not a lot of people watch it.
