A few weeks ago I did my first hike in the Superstitions in decades.

Did the Peralta Trail to Lone Pine. Not a long trail (2 miles to Fremont Saddle), but steep and rocky trail.

The wife and I have been poking around the Superstitions for about a year.

We recently just did the praying hands, slot rock loop.

There are so many great hikes there. Spring is best when it's green and the wild flowers blooming. It's really dry right now.

Wave Cave Trail - 3.6 miles
Dutchman and Bluff Springs loop - 9.5 miles
Hackberry Springs via First Water - 4.7 miles
Second Water and Garden Valley loop - 5 miles
Massacre Falls - 5.8 miles
Boulder Canyon to Viewpoint - 5 miles

We parked the RV at Lost Dutchmen during spring break. I went for a run and ended up hiking up Flatiron. Had to text my wife after an hour because I wasn't going to be back when I had planned lol. It was more of a hike/climb than a run. Amazing view of the east valley.

Probably the best hike I've done in Phoenix. I looked up the trail afterwards and now I want to do the 12 mile hike all the way over the mountain.

I've always wanted to do flatiron but any time the weather is good for it, I tend to be coming out of a lazy season and feel like I may not be prepared for it. Like...now lol

although, I have heard stories about out of shape smokers making it up, just took them longer. I'm in far better shape than that so maybe I would be fine.

I haven't hiked enough in the Superstitions but I've done Peralta to Lone Tree and Massacre Falls. @Dback Jon I would recommend Massacre Falls after a rain, it's cool to see a waterfall in the desert.

It’s on the list. Just need rain !
