We're less than a month away from the 2025 NFL draft, and mock drafts are released in abundance. CBS Sports' Pete Prisco recently released his very first mock draft of the year, and he predicts that the Washington Commanders will select a wide receiver with the 29th overall pick.

They need a young receiver to help grow with Jayden Daniels. McMillan is a big-bodied receiver who would help.

True, the Commanders already traded for Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin is under contract through 2026, and the Commanders have other receivers under contract like Noah Brown, Michael Gallup, and Luke McCaffrey. However, the Commanders don't have a young receiver who stands out above the rest right now. McLaurin and Samuel will carry the bulk of the load in 2025 with some appearances by Brown, McCaffrey, and the others, but at this time, none of them have shown that they can be "the guy" after McLaurin and Samuel are gone.

Adding young skill players is a good idea in this veteran offense because it will give them time to develop and acclimate to the NFL game. McMillan wouldn't be asked to have an immediate impact if the Commanders drafted him, but they would welcome the idea of him being capable enough to do it. He would be an absolute steal at 29 with his size and athleticism.

The Commanders have several needs they must address during the draft, but what they have done so far makes it difficult to predict who they will actually draft, which is why we've seen edge rushers, linebackers, defensive ends, tight ends, and wide receivers all show up in various mock drafts. And that's probably just how Adam Peters wants it.
