Watched this last night... It seems to have some all-time participants of the show.. including a D-bag who is an oil company owner, and is just there to screw with everyone and make their lives miserable...

The dude is crazy, but is very entertaining... Overall the first episode was very entertaining, better than the previous 3-4 seasons IMO.. we will see...

Anyone else catch it last night?

Yeah, very entertaining. I dont see many dud character types like they usually have. Everyone seems pretty interesting. I havent picked a favorite player or team yet.

You can watch it online. :)

Yeah, that oil guy is a jackass. Loved that the lady officer knew he couldn't be trusted.

Also for those with Comcast cable, Survivor is on their on demand tv shows.

I had to keep re-reading the headline because I kept seeing:

Survivor: Sonoma

Was imagining a very rough wine-tasting outing.

I'm curious if the taping for this season is over or not given the islands are being hammered by a storm and tsunami.

Filming on the island for these episodes has wrapped.

I'm enjoying Russell. He's no Coach, but I think he's very entertaining. Wouldn't want him as a neighbor, but he's an interesting character.

Tremendous tragedy for the people of Samoa and American Samoa.

I don't get these people. they have lawyers, law students, an actual rocket scientist, and yet they can sit there and complain about the constant rain in Samoa and in the next sentence they talk about how dehydrated they all are?

Hello, did it occur to any of you to rig up containers to catch the rainwater so you can drink it?

Watching Russell black out twice was a bit scary and he was clearly overdoing it and probably had hypothermia from being out in the rain so much trying to keep the fire going but even he said he was dehydrated. We know they have a pot to make rice in, catch the rainwater in it. And that whole tribe is blaming Russell when they know perfectly well the women on the tribe wanted the blankets and towels and that's why he chose that and not the tarp. Clearly they should have taken the tarp, but blaming him is not fair, he simply had to make the final say but he chose what the tribe wanted, to blame him now is simply self serving. Sorry to see him go he seemed to be a good guy, and I do think it's going to hurt his tribe losing him.

Can't believe Jeff didn't give both teams pizza after all that.

Agree Russ he should have gave them pizza! It sucks for Foa Foa who clearly was way ahead and looking like they were gonna win only to get screwed out of it because a member of the other team gets sick....very lame. At least they kinda came out ahead as the other team lost a member and they didn't have to lose anybody this week. And Russell was an annoying character at first but he is actually proving to be my favorite player right now because he is playing the game and not bitching about the weather and whining all the time.

Like him or not you have to admit Russell is one clever player. Again last night finds the immunity idol with no clues and saves himself.

Last night was a pretty funny episode.

Serious question: Is Russell the best Survivor player ever? It's like watching MJ in his prime.

Loved it when they got rid of Laura. She was mean, loved the laugh of Shambo! Pricless! So much arrogance & prideful in that Galu tribe they make Russell look like a boy scout!

I love watching Russell.

Wish they would let him wear those flimsy gray undies again though :)

I kind of like him. Not much of a jerk as he was to begin with. Also love Natalie a lot as she is such a sweetie!
