Love Russell.

Favorite player of all time: Rupert. That first day when he stole the other team's supplies was just brilliant. Russell plays the game with the same gusto.

Rupert was also one of my favorites, the thing about him though is that he was a nice guy. What makes Russel so amazing is that he is a jerk, yet he is still an incredibly likable player.

Russell is a first class jerk, but I've grown to like him. Not take him home to mama like but sort of isn't that cute puppy like.

He certainly believes in his own power but watching you can see that sometimes his playing "skill" is just actually just dumb luck, which of course is part of the game.

I'll give him this, he is the master of the spin, he played Shambo like a fiddle and as one of the others said seems born to play this game.

Wow Russell you are the sole survivor! You killed it the entire game only to get the shaft by a bitter jury once again! They really need to change the whole jury thing maybe have the first 10 people voted off get to be the jury, it just sucks because the person who plays the best game always gets screwed by the bitter people they ousted! Natalie...Really? What exactly did she do besides ride Russell all the way? Russell has every right to be upset its a great big load of crap that once again ruined one of the best seasons of Survivor in some time!

Don't cry for russell. He was the best player, but pissed off too many people with his arrogance.

He controlled the game and Survivor should be kissing his ass because without him the season sucks! He won the game and the bitter pissed off people he outsmarted gave the money to the dumb girl who tagged along out of spite period! This is whats wrong with the game they let all the people who lost and are pissed off decide who wins, most of the time on Survivor the best player flat out does not win, its a shame. He was the best player since day 1 and still managed to make it to the end yet the little sissys that he got rid of couldn't not hold a grudge and give it to the totally undeserving Natalie. What a joke!

Russell was a true student of the game. It was obvious he'd watched and learned from past seasons. And I agree: he made this season one I wanted to watch. Things like going out and looking for the immunity necklaces and finding them had me cheering him on. He was just plain smart. Too bad he had competitors who couldn't appreciate his brilliance in playing the game. He'd have ticked me off more than once, but he would have had my vote for stepping the game up a notch.

I hope we see him on the "all-star" competition in the Spring. He'll give everyone a run for their money.

Natialie should thank her lucky stars she won.

The jury made up a reason not to vote for him rather than following the rules of the game. Pretty petty. And Russel deserved it. And I understand why he was so shocked. You could tell he was trying to be nice, but I would of rather watched him blow up on everyone.

Everyone knows what happened. The old tribe was jealous and they refused to let him win.

What rules did they not follow? The only rules are you vote for who you want to win the million dollars.

He was a great player. But took the wrong people to the end. Should have gotten rid of the likeable players and stayed with Shambo and Jaison.

BS Dback they would have then given it to Shambo or Jaison, they were a bunch of petty little punks that voted to spite the true winner of the game. Screw Survivor I think I am done with this show way to many people who should win lose because of their poopy voting system, it flat out ruined the season!

They had the same voting system since day one.

And Probst polled the jury - Russell would have beaten Shambo and Jaison.

Yeah right I believe the poll from a bunch of bitter jerks! They are all full of crap they were embarrassed by Russell kicking all their asses and just couldn't let it go and do what they are supposed to do! They are supposed to pick the Survivor, not pick who they just like better. Ridiculous and as I said ruined the season for millions not just myself, it was pretty clear America knows who should have won regardless of the ignorant asses on the jury!

Outwit.... Outplay..... Outlast.

Maybe She outlasted him (Not really though).... NO ONE Outwitted, or Outplayed him. The dude found Idols out of thin air.... Orchestrated the biggest blindside in years when they got Kelly out with the first "out of nowhere" idol. That is the only reason the final 4 happened. HE GOT TWO Idols with NO CLUES! And then he WON the final immunity challenge when he absolutely needed to.

He was clutch.... He was inventive.... He was the orchestrator of everything.... He was devious..... and finally, he was a rock of consistency.

He lost because they didnt want to reward his type of game. Thats it IMO.

I am fine with her winning, but it will go down as one of the biggest screwjobs for the title ever. And everyone knows that.

Also.... As an aside....... the final 3 thing is complete crap. It should ALWAYS be a final 2. With 9 on the jury it seems STUPID to make it a final 3.

I can see him being mad, but that's what makes Survivor so good for so long, you never can quite game the system in this game. Russell probably was as good a strategic player as Survivor has ever had, but he got too cocky at the end and probably cost himself a few votes.

That one guy the biggest Survivor fan ever, he's been on twice and never come close to winning despite knowing the game inside and out. Part of what makes the show new every season is you never know what's going to happen.

I wanted Russell to win but as soon as he started popping off around camp at the final 3 I knew he was in trouble. It's exactly as he said, he figured everyone on the jury had the same motives for playing as he did, they didn't, so they didn't like his gloating. I'm glad he won the 100K for the fan vote and I do hope he's on the 20th season, great player.

I don't recall who voted for who but I really wonder if he had done what he told Brett he might do and voted to make a tie so it came down to fire starting would the jury have respected it more and given him some votes that way?

I think he forgot who was on the jury and how short a time they'd been off the island, if they voted a month later he probably wins.

Side question how did people take what Brett said to Mick?

He said something like that's all I need to hear to know how much you really know about me?

My girlfriend has said for weeks she thought Brett was gay, I don't agree. So she was thinking Brett was saying if you REALLY knew me you'd know talking about girls on a "Bro date" wouldn't be the right answer. I took it as him saying if you really knew me you'd know I'm not into hanging out watching sports or something else. At the reunion I was hoping Jeff would ask that question to Brett so we knew what he meant?

Yea I took as Brett making a point that Mick never took the time to really get to know him, it was rather strange though.

Russell deserved to win. He probably was the best survivor player of all time. However that is the game of survivor. It was left in the hands of the people who got picked off one by one by Russell.

His big mistake was not bringing Jaison with him. Jaison was probably the worst player ever at challenges. I mean the guy seems somewhat atheletic and sounds smart but just seemed to give up with every challenge. I mean he would just stand there and look confused at the puzzels that weren't really that hard.

I realize this will not be the popular opinion and I don't mean it to rile anyone up but while I agree he played a great game---I have never seen a Survivor play his opponents better, Shambo still thinks he is her best friend, facing the jury is part of the process.

Figuring out how to get those voted off, bitter folks to award you the prize is part of outwit. In that score Natalie did outplay him. She may have ridden his coattails, laying all that crap right at his front door, but he allowed her to do it and by underestimating not only how the jury viewed the game but what Natalie could or would do to win he lost out on a prize that most of the viewers thought he had hands down.

The thought she was weak (which she may have been she certainly was the least equipped player in the final 5 ever) and controllable he gets to own part of the responsibility for his loss. He may as well have just written her the check.

It will be interesting to see him play as a Villain, if that is what happens. I will enjoy watching him go up with and against a crew of players willing to do what ever it takes to win as opposed to the vanilla crowd he ended up with.

Somewhere out there a bunch of CBS executives are pleased as punch that we're all still talking about the ending.

Exactly, one of the things that makes Survivor good is that there's no hard rule on who the jury votes for. Sometimes they vote for the nice person, some times they vote for the bad guy. First winner Rich was a bad guy, several winners have been nice guys(or women).

One of the reasons I couldn't stand the show Weakest Link was that everytime the same thing happened they voted off the smarter people so they could win easier at the end. IN the process they guaranteed much smaller pots to win. Personally that's why I think that show never got as huge as some other shows get, everyone wanted the best player to win and when they didn't, they stopped watching.

Survivor has so many elements to it that while yes Russell was the best player at staying on the island, he wasn't the best player at convincing the people on the jury he should win.

For example, if he never told anybody he owned an oil company and was a millionaire, he might have won. I think clearly his wealth played a role in him not winning.
