Williams and Sherman, Williams looks to be the start 1000+ back we were hoping for when we got Beanie, who runs his mouth more than he runs the rock. Injured and dissing the team that is trying to hide your surgery, that was his last mistake with Whiz.

Timmy is a great character guy but must have had Gee's Ipod last year, cuz all he did was "drop it like it's hot." Sherman is bigger, more suited for blocking in the pocket that Hightower was asked (too much) to do. Also this FB is a team captain, can get out to the flats and catch the rock.

With both in at the same time, (same play) tea,ms won't be able to key on whether it's a pass or run play, because we could do either. The tank can throw the lead block for Williams, he can stay and block in the pocket, the play-action pass then comes into play and would further help our O-line issues.

I'm liking this more and more.

Good stuff. How about Sherman and Williams paint you into a corner. Okay so I'm not as creative as you. Some kind of painting reference could be used.

Meaning I got it all wrong? It was more of a hopeful than a prediction, (who knows what the Cards will do) but if I got it right, I'll be pimping on the corner and not painting my self in one. :D

I'll make a bet with some one here. Beanie is gone by the trade deadline. His Agent will most likely be the one asking for it. 1 month avatar?

This was probably one of the all-time best nickname drafts for Arizona.

PP7
Macho Acho
Sherman Tank
Q2
Take it to the Housler

Chris Berman should love our draft.

That avatar was better than the current one.
I was listening to Sandler's old stuff, the part where they hit the goat in the head with the football was cracking me up. "Who F*&^% Whizzed that thing? :)

Linkage Between Different Offensive Guys We Drafted

New TE,RB,FB....QB????...
All four are interwined strategically.

Picking up Sherman and Housler signals that we plan to use a 2-back set with the FB doing some of the run-blocking that a blocking TE or H-Back might do in a one-back set.

Williams appears to be more of a guy who'll rack up more 10+ yard runs and be more of a home-run threat than Timmy or Beanie and, therefore, more likely to keep pass rushers honest in a play-action passing attack.

Last season, a smart, short accurate passer like Max Hall got eaten up by pass rushers (who tended to ignore the play action fake and simply ate him up because of his short height). Skelton and Bartell faired better because they were taller and could see and throw over their blockers and opposing pass rushers.

I think the addition of Williams, Sherman and Housler (& change in offensive strategy) may open up more options for us in the signing of a FA quarterback (i.e. we wouldn't be forced to sign a 6-3 or 6-4 QB and a guy like Kolb, who is 6-2 might be a considered a more attractive fit than otherwise because our runs off play action would pose more danger to opposing defenses and give our QB's a little more time back there).

I love me some running game, and I agree it should open up the play-action something nice. I wonder if the plethora (oh yes I did) of runningbacks is really going to stay. But like you say, it will help our new QB bigtime with 2 backs back there and the defense not just teeing off on us every play. Fitz might even have a Fitz year. :)

Maybe. But Shane has already posted the number of long runs Hightower had last season.

The problem with the Cards running game wasn't the lack of a home run threat it was too many runs that gained nothing or lost yards between those 10+ yard runs.

You have got to be kidding me? You're comparing him to a known criminal? This comment strikes me as ludicrous! There is absolutely no reason for that! This because he has the same last name?
lighten up. It because of the reference to the whole thread about the tandem Sherman Williams. sheesh.
