it is truely pathetic, for being 'big hitters' they sure aren't making huge amounts of turnovers. I would prefer sure tacking and less turnovers, then more turnovers and more big plays due to bad tackling.
How so? I would think they've been taught to tackle properly and wrap up since Pop Warner. They're more interested in the big hit that makes the highlight reel.
I've had it with shoulders delivered to running backs built like a palatte of lumber. It was all over the place today and is easily a big reason for this loss.
It's like Baldinger said during the telecast, once the Cards start tackling, they'll be one of the top defenses in the league. They get to the ball carrier in swarms but nobody can get the guy on the ground,or out of bounds. So, i'm not so sure it's all the coaching. The players are in position to make the play, they just don't. Coaching does have a part in it but tackling is pretty atrociuos throughout the league.
Tackling isn't practiced anymore, and practices have very limited contact because of injury.
Thus no practice means no good.
Plus as the ebb and flow of everything football goes. A lot more teams are opting for smaller/faster defenses, and a power running game & large WR's are harder to bring down.
