It's a sad day at our house... my wife is a huge LSU fan, having lived in Red Stick. She's walking around with her robe on with this dazed look in her eyes wondering wth happened with those passing play calls at the end by Miles.

I'm going to have to cook the ham and sweet potatoes for the family today... she can't focus. Sad day for me too, I'll prolly burn everything.:D

i posted earlier thsi year that if he was 6'3, he'd probably be a top 5 pick. Russle Wilson having success will help him but the NFL still adheres to size/speed dimensions when drafting, especially in round 1.

It will be interesting to see how the NFL looks at Boyd. He is not as small as Wilson, not as big as Andrew Luck. After missing on Russell Wilson, I am hesitant to cross him off the list based on height. Boyd has an electric arm and a touch on the long pass that is not to be ignored. I think Russell Wilson is actually a pretty good comparison given their abilities and limitations.

Comparisons
Tahj Boyd goes 6'1" 225 lbs. Almost exact as Aaron Rodgers (6'2" 225) and RGIII (6'3" 217). Smaller than Andrew Luck (6'4" 234), Tom Brady (6'4" 225), and Peyton Manning (6'5" 230). Bigger than Drew Brees (6'0" 209) and Russell Wilson (5'11" 206)

The key to Russell Wilson's success is that he has a high release point and huge hands. It will be interesting to see the measurables on Boyd.

I agree that he has terrific arm talent. He made some serious money with the performance last night.

As a South Carolina fan I wouldn't want him. Both on principle and because I've seen what happens to him when a team really rattles his cage. :)

I looked up his stats.......his worst game passing yardage wise looked like this:

12/21, 163 yards, 1TD; 20 rush, 27 yards, 2TD

His worst game completion % wise looked like this:

11/24, 183 yards, 1TD, 2INT; 17 rush, 26 yards, 1TD

The rest of his games, he never threw for less than 237 yards or completed under 55.6% of his passes (which were both in the same game mind you, where he threw for 3TD).

I've watched a few Clemson games this year, and I've been quietly impressed with what I've seen. He and Chip Kelly together??????

You talking about Boyd's 36/50 with 346 yards, 2TD performance as poor?

What I really liked was that he showed some serious toughness. He got walloped quite a few times. I have to question the thought of running him so much, but the results came out in their favor.

I like Boyd a lot. Athletic, live arm, sturdy frame, tough as nails, and seems to make the right play. His season was just as impressive as Johnny Football's, if not more, just didn't have the fanfare. I was reading some of the draft guys saying that his pocket presence etc. has improved dramatically this year and you love to see that.

There have been some concerns with his weight, as he got up to 245 lbs. last year. That's a lot of weight to carry on a 6'1 frame.

I get the Russell Wilson comps, but one thing you have to remember about Wilson is that his intangibles are so far off the charts it's not even funny. It's a big reason teams were willing to take a chance on him despite his size. That said, he's a lot smaller than Boyd.

From a pure passing stand point I would say that is correct, but including rushing stats I would say Manziel has the edge overall. Also Manziel is only a freshman and Boyd is a junior.
