From Fox Sports--Randy Hill:

The Arizona Cardinals. Yeah, they're historically rotten, but a new stadium and impressive skill-position talent goosed expectations in the desert.
Unfortunately, they've been disappointing enough for defensive end Bertrand Berry to advocate a closed-door meeting. But the "players only" designation caused more than half of the squad members to believe they weren't qualified to attend.

Back to the Cardinals. Turning down considerable loot to do naming-rights business with Pink Taco was a sound move from a public-relations standpoint. Too bad the name would seem to make sense.

Wow, I wonder if he gets reprimanded at all for that comment. That may be crossing the line. Are there enough Cardinal fans out there to blast him for the comment though? I doubt it.

Why would a Cardinals fan blast him for the comment? What's untrue?

Not that it is untrue, but I am sure that there is someone who offended by that line. There always is.

Then they need to quit reading the Internet and get back to playing Candyland.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I agree with you. But there is always someone offended.

Could you imagine Bickley saying that the Cards are playing like a bunch of pink tacos and getting away with it?

He follows the team more closely....I'd hope he can be a little more specific.

I am getting really, really tired of the 'Pink Taco' line.

It was a cheap publicity stunt and not folks like to throw it around to use as fodder for comedic cheap shots.. It really pisses me off.

I'm pissed they didn't go with it. Sure beats Univeristy of Phoenix Stadium...

Apollo Group stock price on 9-26 when naming rights deal announced was $ 50.17, today it is trading for around $ 33.84 per share. There was no stock split either.

The Cardinals need to play their way out of it.

What pisses me off is being an NFL bottom-feeder...again.

Well, I think he should be reprimanded, but, hey, I'm a woman. What the hell do I know?

Are you implying that the falter of their stock price is related to the stadium naming deal?

That's a signficant reach... I am confident the decline of Apollo Group's stock is due to larger factors, namely the lawsuits and investigations they are facing. In fact Apollo probably made the naming deal as an attempt to counter some of the negative publicity they are currently experiencing.

I have posted this on another thread on this topic....but for the record....Pink taco was 100% publicity stunt. They offered like 2 or 3 million and the UOP offered $7 million per year..or something like that. If Pink taco offered $7 million..it would likely exceed the revenue of the entire chain. Two unit restaurant chains do not get naming rights to stadiums...unless it is like a high school field or something.

And no...Morton's and Hard Rock Cafe had nothing to do with it. They are not affiliated with the owner of Pink Taco as the Morton family sold both chains years ago...

I think any Cardinal fan that doesn't agree with these statements, could most likely qualify as a Cardinal coach.

No. I just thought it was interesting that a company whose stock was a high-flyer came crashing down shortly after becoming associated with the Cardinals.

Actually upon closer examination Apollo Groups stock has been dumping over the past couple years from a high near $ 100. They just happened to take another 33% dump in price a little more than a month after inking their deal with the Cardinals.

It's all Bill Bidwill's fault.
