I agree and not necessarily saying they should tank as im on the fence. But why not just tank and assure yourself top 5? Only benefit to not tanking is watching a few more wins

I don't want to trade Bledsoe to force a tank. I want to see the potential in what we got. Its demoralizing for the suns to keep losing...they need to turn the corner at some point.

I think tanking from the start sends the wrong message to our youngsters. If we play them big minutes and lose that's one thing but tanking to kick off the year isn't a good idea. Players like Booker and Warren are at the point where they've been in the league a few years but haven't won yet, you don't want them to be too complacent and accept losing..

Start best 5 players. Make rookies earn time, should not just be given unless injuries make it necessary. No need for FA as roster seems set unless a trade to good to pass up comes along let's see what we got.

NBA isnt like the NFL where a franchise QB can turn you around.

Only .000001% Lebron type talents will do that in the NBA, and they just dont exist.

So no, dont tank. Even if you get the #1 pick, the odds of that guy being a game changer are nil.

The thing is because we have such a young team they don't need extra help tanking.

I totally agree. We have decent enough talent on this team to surprise some people. We do have all the positions covered pretty well....even center. I mean Chandler/Williams isn't bad. If we would have played Williams more instead of wasting time on evaluating Len we would have won more games. Not only do we have a good starting lineup (albeit very young) but we have good backups as well.

This team will probably have very entertaining/impressive games and have quite a few duds too due to inexperience. But at least we have some hope finally.

Tanking also further labels the Suns as losers in the eyes of top free agents. Additionally there is a a cost in terms of fan support. However, perhaps the largest cost may be the weakening of local government support as the Suns seek a new arena. It all adds up.

Do we even need to tank? We're going to get a top 7 pick no matter what, lol.

Speaking of tanking and top 7...I bet Miami will tank to ensure a top 7 to collect on their pick. But then the season after it's unprotected so would it be worth it to them in the end?

I dont think it matters whether we make the conscious decision to tank or not, nobody is beating GSW next season. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't do our best and shoot for the playoffs. We have to get out of this loser mentality sooner or later and you cant just keep tanking and then say; ok this is the year we're gonna flip the switch and be good! (Ask the 76ers)

No way does Miami tank, especially to avoid the possibility of giving us their pick next season. It'll be easier for them to win next year than the following season because players like Dragic only have a couple years left playing at a high volume. I don't think their turnaround midseason was a fluke or just a great run either, I think it just took Spoelstra a little while to figure out how to use the talent they had to their best abilities.

I'd be surprised if they didn't make the playoffs, they definitely wouldn't tank to miss them with Riley running things. They just opened up a bunch of cap space clearing Bosh's salary also so they'll be able to add at least 1 quality free agent to the team they had last year. It's supposed to be a tossup between Boston and Miami to sign Hayward also, if Miami gets him then they could be playing for homecourt in the 1st round.

I say we play everyone, but with emphasis on still giving the young guys minutes so they develop and the vets don't wear down. Next draft is supposedly going to be a good one, also. I say we ride this young talent thing. The last games of the year were very entertaining even though they did not win, they mostly just did not know how to finish games. They have to play to learn. I am excited to see our new picks and how they play.
