That could mean several things -- it is being sorted out by coaches, the league and a six-player advisory committee -- but amond the possibilities are recognizing captains on the uniform (Perhaps a "C" as they do in hockey?) and press conferences to announce who the captains are.

If it does happen and each team has 3 captains, designated for the whole year, who would you choose?

Q gets my first vote in
Adub gets second

For third it is a toss up, you have guys like warner, edge, lienart, berry, fitz and some other notable mentions. I would give it to lienart but I think giving it to edge or warner would also work out well.

You cannot name 3 offensive guys or something like that. It's always offense, defense and special teams.

- Leinart (Offense)
- Dansby or Hayes (Defense)
- Ayanbadejo (Special Teams)

Leinart is a no brainer, even though i like Q as well, but Leinart is the QB. On defense i would say Dansby or Hayes, the two inside linebackers. Wilson is a great player, but he is too quite, he's not a leader.

It depends on who gets to choose. I bet Milligan would get the ST nod if the players got to choose, but the Pitt import would likely get the nod from the coaches' desk.

I'd bet it will be Boldin, Berry, and Coney, or whatever is name is.

I think the opposite, Wilson is a lot louder of a leader on our team than dansby or hayes plus he is the pro bowler and best player.

If it had to be ST I would name Hanik over Obefemi

Just a suggestion. We need to start responding to Urban's blog to see if he answer and fill in good stuff.

I just posted over there and then realized I was the first respondant. He can't expound on questions nobody asks.

Safeties rarely lead their team except for Brian Dawkins maybe. Usually it's a middle linebacker. Dansby had a great season, he plays ILB now, so it's a good oppurtunity to put the team on his shoulders.

Same thing with the offense. Bolding is our best player, no doubt about it, but Leinart is our QB, he's our leader, he's our captain. It would be foolish not to put the team/offense on his shoulders.

I wont take you serious as long as you refer to Q as Bolding, I have no idea why people make this mistake still.

I dont believe Dansby has leadership qualities, it has nothing to do with position it has to do with personality. I remember watching Q tip and seeing him btich about being hurt and someone looked at him and said "dude, its your thumb, that makes you not 100%" Wilson is a warrior and the glue to our D.

It has been my experience in football that the players choose the team captains. With the exception that the QB is always a team captain.

In Madden I always chose Leinart, Dansby, and Wilson.

Dansby needs to be more consistant. He's never sniffed a probowl. Dansby has also had questions about his work ethic. Wilson is our most productive defender, and becoming a vocal leader on defense. The guy stuck around in AZ because he wanted to turn it around, and he never complains Wilson on defense all the way. It isn't about the position, it is about production and character.

I say let Matty be capitan NEXT year. He's young, inconsistant and still learning. We have a passionate, productive pro bowler in Boldin. Why heap it on Matt until he has taken over the team. He has promise, but has plenty to prove before he is in Boldin's level of production.

Dansby's production has been really close to Wilson's. Karlos has 17 sacks, 4INTs-two returned for TDs, 5 Forced Fumbles and 6 Fumble recoveries in his 3 seasons. That's solid production for any 4-3 OLB and incredible results for a Cardinal defender.

Funny thing is that people were seriously knocking Wilson at about the same stage of Adrian's career. Of the 22 starters and of all Cardinal draft picks, Wilson now has the longest tenure with the team. Nothing like a little maturity to improve a player and make him "Captain" material. Great to see a Cardinal actually develop into a star caliber player while remaining with the team.

Dansby is not like some of the other players people said just needed more time. He's actually produced on the field and should only get better as he gets older.

He's produced, but not to the level of what some on the board believe. He is an average to above average OLB, but he has the potential to be special. Hopefully he can develop in the same way Adrian has. Good teams develop their players from the draft and retain them.

All pro bowlers, all leaders. Matty isn't ready yet... He's too young and still needs to mature. Q is the ideal team captain. I think it'd be lame to name a ST player as a captain. Captain's should be starting players. But that's just my opinion...

I'm sorry, but any 4-3 OLB who has 4 sacks, 3INTs-two returned for TDs, 2Forced Fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries in one season for the Cardinals is special. Especially when he follows it up with an 8 sack season- in only 14 games.

Yeah, he has the potential to be special, but don't mistake that for already being special. And just because he had those stats "for the Cardinals" doesn't make his stats or impact any greater. And he had a great year two years ago...... but his other two years were just solid. I need more consistancy to proclaim him dominant or special. He has his flashes, but he is an average to above average OLB right now. He is not a game-changing defender who has to be accounted for on every play and who offensive coordinators game plan around. To ma, that's the definition of special, and he's not there yet. Notice I said yet. I see it in him, but haven't seen it consistantly.
