he'd be a perfect 3rd WR/Punt-Kick return guy.

From what I'm seeing on the internet, he's a legitimate 4.3/4.4 guy. No wonder B.A. brought him in.

He sure impressed Ron Rivera.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/06/02/ted-ginns-speed-makes-ron-rivera-go-wow/

“You hear things from the outside about players,” Rivera told the
Charlotte Observer
. “But then when you see him for yourself, and you sit there and you go, ‘Wow.’
Watching Ted’s speed
, his quickness, his route-running – and he’s catching everything right now. So we’re real excited about that, and his potential as far as a return man.”
“He can really take the top off a defense,” wide receivers coach Ricky Proehl said. “You don’t find guys like that. They’re hard to find that have that ability to run by people. This league is so talented. You got linebackers that run 4.5s. You got defensive linemen running 4.6s. To find someone with that elite speed is hard, and Ted possesses that kind of speed.”

I love it. Ted Ginn is one of the fastest players in the NFL. He would definitely fulfill the speed receiver aspect. He has really turned around his career in SF and Carolina. He would not have to carry the team. Just present a deep threat on third down and return punts/kicks. Question is what is the market rate for his skill set? I think 2.0-2.5 million max.

if Roberts got 4 per, I'm thinking Ginn is at least 3 per.

I'm excited about getting him signed if we can. Love to see PP doing what he does best cover and throw in a offensive play for him to have fun with.

If They get Ginn to sign on the dotted line I believe the days of PP on offense are over. It never really worked out anyway last season.

Love his speed...poor hands. Great returner. Takes the top off a defense which is what ba wants. Doubt he leaves without a contract.

Not sure in this crazy start to free agency. Heyward-Bey got a 1 yr 2.5 million contract last year from the colts.

I'm thinking anywhere between 2 for $5 mill up to 3 for $10 mill. So 2.5-3.3 mill per.

Maybe Keim can do better, but I wouldn't be opposed to those types of numbers.

Arians wants a speed receiver badly. He brought in guy after guy last year and we still don't have one. Arians is probably pushing hard for such a guy, and Ginn is the best one out there.

It's a major cog in his offense and it simply is unwise to keep plugging in guys off the street. A Roberts for Ginn swap (and maybe at a discount too compared to what the Redskins signed Roberts) would be impressive.

Plus I massively agree that Arenas was horrible as a returner and killed our subsequent drives by routinely giving the offense a starting position at the 10-13 yard line.

Killing 2 birds with 1 stone for probably a good chunk less then roberts? Sign me up. Get it done Keim!

I'm thinking the Cardinals might give him $3-million per on a 3-year deal with a generous signing bonus because he is a perfect fit for B.A.'s offense as #3 receiver, represents a big upgrade at PR & KR and allows Patrick Peterson to focus on becoming an elite shutdown NFL cornerback.

If I know B.A., he's putting the hard sell on Ted right now. ;)

After his illustrious career in Miami (bust) S.F. ( sucked ), Carolina (very meh), the Cards better grab him up quickly before some other team grabs him (not).

As Cam Cameron said, when the Dolphins drafted Teddy in the 1st round, "you are not only drafting Ted Ginn, you are drafting his whole family". (whatever that meant).

He had better come cheap.

Ginn makes sense. BA wanted Cribbs last year. Ginn brings many of the same skills, but he's younger and doesn't have the lingering injury issues.

As a Cam Newton owner in fantasy, I watched a decent amount of Carolina games last year. Ginn has improved quite a lot since his SF days.

That seems to be the case. He wasn't a good receiver in Miami or SF, but seems to have come on strong in Carolina. If he's signed, hopefully he's just entering his prime and isn't a 'one year wonder'. At the least, he's a solid return specialist. At the best, he adds the legitimate deep threat that the B.A. offense highlights.

Wow, Ginn was on a very minimal salary last year.

Mike Jurecki ‏@mikejurecki
Ted Ginn base salary last yr 750K w/ a 50k workout bonus.
K/off returns 25- 595 yds, Punt returns 26-316 yds, Receiving 36-556 yds 5 TD

Even with the threat of speed, he would bring something to this offense. Coverage would have to play off, opening up the short to intermediate and lanes to run through.

Ginn is a good return specialist that also provides some deep speed on a spot basis at WR

i just dont see that as a $3mm a year guy

$1 mm a year maybe

He'd be a good fit. Don't see why anyone would be against signing him. He brings more to this offense than Roberts.

Would be a great signing. Now some say he cannot catch, well he got better at that. If he did have great hands, the guy would probably be a #1 WR... we would not be acquiring him for that. I just do not get some people's logic, they want a pro bowler at every position with a make believe assumption of cap space by doing so lol

I cant see why anyone would be against it either given he fills the returner need and can stretch the field. I cant see paying 4M a year for that though just like I cant see paying Roberts 16M for 4 years but 10M of it is in the last two years so it is basically a 2 year $6M deal unless he becomes a receiver worth 5M a year.
