Teddy Bridgewater And Other Potential Free Agent QB's

He might be a free agent at the end of the season. If the price is right, do we take a chance? He has nothing to negotiate on as he basically has missed the past 2 seasons. This is if Minny lets him go. Other than him, there are no potential FA's I'm even luke warm on. So, what are our options aside from hopefully getting one of the top draft picks?

Just nobody say Cousins, he showed you basically what he is yesterday and if the objective is to win a Championship, you would be an idiot to sign his asking price which I feel the Redskins feel too if they can find a better option... oh, and Cousins has great stats which amount to diddly squat

Bridgewater not with BA, and only as a Backup/Starter for a QBoF not for the Starting role, I'm not sold on Bridgewater as an QB and as a winner. He did well but his body, can't take the heat so to speak.

no thank you. Look at his int yesterday. Clean pocket, but I’d afraid to get hit with his knee and gets happy feet before throwing high to his rb 5 yards away without setting his feet. It’s a mental hurdle for him now and the only way to get over it is by playing, which he won’t this year unless Keenum is injured

I'd kick the tires on Bridgewater, Tyrod Taylor, and yes... Kirk Cousins. I think with his recent performance, he may not be as expensive as we've all been thinking.

I would like McCarron as our backup but the guy might want to start... Taylor I would accept if we cut Palmer and still encompass the draft, we need options while getting this right

The Cards are not in a position to take a risk with Teddy Bridgewater. Tyrod Taylor could MAYBE be a stop gap, a very short one, if they draft one of the top guys in the draft (whoever that is).

Cousins will simply cost too much and probably wouldn't deliver. Of course, that may depend on who the coach is next season.

Under Hue Jackson and Jay Gruden he performed well. Surrounding him with some talent under Arians will bring the best of him again. At worst it will cost a second rounder to get him and his contract is reasonable as well. Unlike Cousins, there is no need to break the bank. Plus they can draft a QB in round 2-3 to groom.

What kind of QB would best fit the team's supporting cast? Would BA or anyone else be wiling to blow up the team's entire offensive system to accomodate a quick, short mobile QB? Or are we pretty much locked into a system run by your standard 6-4 big-armed pocket QB? Or is there enough system and coaching flexibility to accept any type of talented QB and make the system fit the dude?

It is a chicken and egg first problem. If there is a good QB and doesn't fit Arians system, can you get a coach as good or better than Arians to fit the QB ? If it is a certainty to find a better coach, I would choose a new coach if there is a good QB.

But we are talking about the freaking Cardinals. And Arians dropped into their lap by luck. Doubt they can do better right away.

Does everyone here realize that this team hasn't drafted a QB to groom since 2006? Every team drafts a QB to groom to be the next starter at least once in 10 except this team. Hell, this franchise drafted 3 QB's in the last 10 years; John Skelton, Ryan Lindley, Logan Thomas. None higher than the 4th round.

Actually thinking about this, Dalton may not be that bad an option. When he had a legit running game and a decent Oline he was pretty effective. The thing is Dalton needs a good running game that will not allow the other team's defense to get after him. The Cardinals have the RBs to be effective running, the question is can they find a Oline that will be good enough for the RBs to run and to protect Dalton to some extent. The other question is can Arians get Dalton to the next level. Dalton has only known what Cincy has provided for coaching and that could be part of the problem. On the other hand it could blow up too.
