Paul Coro pointed out on twitter that while we talked about Nash and Marshall, Telfair's 1.6M dollar contract became guaranteed in May. I knew it was partially guaranteed but now the Suns will have at least two PGs that will be under contract for the upcoming season barring Telfair being traded.

Amid Nash & Marshall talk, here's a clarifiation on another ‪#Suns‬ point guard: Telfair's $1.6M salary for 2012-13 became guaranteed in May.

That's fine. Telfair proved decent depth as a back up or third stringer. 1.6 million is no big deal.

I can only imagine the Suns trying to decide who to start at PG. Telfair who has played well enough as a backup PG or the rookie Marshall. Either way it will be a total disaster unless the Suns bring in a veteran PG who can start.

That's the whole point! We need to be a total disaster for a while. We could use two seasons of not winning a single game.

The problem is, after a couple of disastrous seasons, the fans may quit attending and Sarver might try move the team which might be the plan. The Suns FO has not done a good job communicating with the fans. How can this not be obvious and corrected. Lance Blanks cannot be the face of the franchise.

I want the Suns to start building a quick, exciting team going forward with young talent. The Suns will inevitably lose in the process and start getting some earlier draft picks and maybe somewhere along the line sign a quality FA.

You start the rookie. He is your long term answer and he has the maturity to handle the pressure. It is going to be difficult for him at first but it is the quickest way for him to develop.

If he is going to bust, you might as well know that soon. If he does bust, we'll get a better chance with the ping pong balls.

Two thumbs up for Telfair. One of the bright spots last year. Hope he manages to stay in the rotation, Nash or no Nash. But with him and Marshall out there teams will be sagging waay off. Better go for the fast breaks and the pressure defence and stay the hell out of half court offence.
