I couldn't care less about his partying: I never thought he was worth a draft pick based in his play.

Was there some kind of outcry that we didn't draft Johnny Football? Maybe I missed it..

From the end of article...

Sources said Manziel looked sharp on his first day of practice Thursday and had a good grasp of the plays being run, a sign that he's had his nose in the playbook.
"People will see how hard Johnny works once this thing gets rolling,'' said a source. "He'll get more mature as he goes along. He's 21 and people want him to be 35. I would not count him out.''

In the end, what he does on the field really matter. If he does poorly, his partying reputation will kill chances to redeem himself after the Browns cut him. If he does well, the angst over his offseason will go away.

He's the anti-Tebow with the same media ga-ga. Too bad you can't put his talent with Tebow's work ethic and professionalism.

(As an aside, the media loves to tear people down, build them up, then tear them down again. They're in a win-win with this and I'd prefer not to get too enamored with all the BS)

I feel the same as when we drafted Bryant Johnson instead of Terrell Suggs or took Levi Brown over Adrian Peterson.

We'll see

We'll see but IF Johnny football sees the field he won't be competing with the likes of Kurt Warner, who laid an egg through passing too damned much Leinart's rookie season.

I think Leinart overcame MNM - could Johnny football? or others? evidenced by record rookie accomplishments. including the record rookie pass yardage at the time. On a not so great team.

Well then along came Whiz- and his cut throat mentality- I'm happy BA doesn't spend much time pissing on other people.

I remember Leinart showing promises - even on MNM

But Leinart, in his second NFL start, ran the offense with precision and poise at the start, becoming the first rookie to throw a pair of first-quarter TD passes in his first two starts. This time, he did it without Pro Bowl receiver Larry Fitzgerald, sidelined with a hamstring injury, against a Chicago defense that had allowed two touchdowns all season.

I'm one of the lone Manziel supporters on this board and even I think his behavior is disconcerting.

But I'm not going to bet against him.

Am not and was not upset that they didn't draft him (or any other QB in this draft).

He's a 21 year old man with some cash, fame, desire to boogie and the ability to do it. Wish I could have said the same at 21 years old :)

I think he will not last long due to his stature not the size of his heart or ability. He is just a bit too small methinks.

The problem is he had this without the NFL.

Born into money so he never needed an NFL check.

Is a legend in Texas, so he'll always be a legend in Texas.

So it's not like these are new things to him. He's always had money, and has had fame for a long time. But he still treats it like it's his first time.

He also lied through his teeth and has basically showcased to the world he is not a man of his word. Now he's even acting defiant basically saying it's his right to do the things he said he would avoid and tone down, even after multiple ownership talks. Then he does the opposite basically pissing in his owners face publicly and making him look like a fool.

He had an amazing OL in college and there will never be a line in the history of the NFL as good as the one he had in college, comparatively speaking.

He can talk about how lots of people are doing what he's doing, but most of them will be out of the league soon enough. Meanwhile, the key question is... what was Brian Hoyer doing as he was out drinking and partying with a hopefully eventually to be deported Canadian? Was he out there partying, or mentally preparing? Because once again what matters is that he beats out Hoyer, who Boyziel should easily beat out if he's an NFL QB of any worth. I respect what Hoyer has done, but he's still a stop gap at best. A first round QB should beat out Hoyer with ease.

Boyziel still doesn't get it. He completely misses the mental aspect of the game and everything around it.

But whatever, the guy will be how he is, and he isn't on our team. His worst case scenario is he fails, and goes back to being a son in a rich oil family and being a legend in Texas.

Or he could blow up and being pretty good. We'll see. But no matter how good he is or isn't, he's leaving a lot on the table by being such an idiot. He could be better regardless of his level of talent, but his 'ways' are holding him back. In the NFL that generally has a price, either his career or simply being average instead of good or only good instead of great. We'll see.

Absolutely LOVE watching the kid play. I will watch every Browns game I can! Only time will tell if his partying curtails his career.

Playing QB in the NFL is hard. If he flames out, it won't be because someone took his picture...
