Playing QB in the NFL is hard. If he flames out, it won't be because someone took his picture...
Not true. How else do you explain why Matt Leinart failed? If the beer bong/hot tub party picture never shows up, we'd been riding his left arm to a 3rd Super Bowl title.

He is worse than Leinart ever was. In one summer he has far exceeded anything Leinart did away from football.

what seemed like 50 people in Tampa informed me that Leinart's knickname in college was "White Gold", so I am not so sure what you say is true.

Not true. According to thesmel Whiz was mean to Leinart so
he forgot how to play football.

I'm one of the lone Manziel supporters on this board and even I think his behavior is disconcerting.

But I'm not going to bet against him.

I love Manziel's skill set too, but it's as if he's now inviting the negative publicity.

He needs to adopt Derek Jeter's "no cell phone" policy if he wants to continue partying.

Now that he is not a Cardinal, I hope he starts and it is a complete train wreck in which to provide tons of entertainment. I thought he was great in college but he was no Vince Young in college (go see National Championship title) and one sees how that turned out. I personally think he has everything it takes physically to succeed, but these current reports are so obvious he does not get what the NFL is about, that in year two once they have tape on him if he does not study his game 24/7... his career is kapoot!

I know a few teams didn't have Vince Young on their board, even though he was a prototype QB. He grew up in low income housing with no male role models around. Some scouts were concerned that he didn't have the emotional maturity to handle the NFL lifestyle. Those scouts were ultimately right about him.

I said before the draft I thought Teddy Bridgewater was a franchise guy and would be the best QB in this draft. Nothing has changed on that end for me.

Manziel isnt worth the trouble. At least not in my eyes. Rolled up $20 bill Johnny? Really? I mean I am pretty liberal on this stuff but thats pretty bad form.

I know the Cardinals felt Blake Bortles was a franchise guy based on what they said. The problem with Bridgewater was that the film showed his inconsistent accuracy even though he put up an amazing completion percentage. Little things like ball placement don't hurt you as much in college, but in the NFL it ends up with a lot more incomplete passes.

With Manziel you have this magical quality the other QBs are lacking. That's what appealed to me.

Teddy got torn apart between his Bowl Game and Draft day. Was actually kind of ridiculous. He went to a good situation in Minny too.

I am not talking about the info that went into the Draft machine with Bridgewater and whether its valid or not. I just think he is elite with his release, reads, accuracy and that will get him far. Chocolate Aaron Rodgers FTW!

I don't know; I think he's one of the guys that was exposed, not a guy who was destroyed by overanalysis. The problems of his Pro Day were evident on tape.

I would disagree that Minny is a good situation. Defensive coach and high expectations. Shaky QB options in front of him. Outside of raw Cordarelle Patterson and TE Rudolph, no one is scaring teams in the passing game.

I would agree on the Rodgers comparison, expect that Rodgers didn't have the scrutiny on his skillset. The scrutiny Rodgers faced was based on playing in a Tedford offense that people thought was too gimicky to work in the NFL. Since Rodgers, a number of QBs have played in gimmicky offenses and excelled, so that bias is starting to errode.

I actually was upset we didn't draft Bridgewater as well. Especially once we'd traded down. That said, it does look like we got a good player in Deone Buchanon

Even despite Manziel's struggles so far, I still think he will become a much better player than either Lindley or Thomas.
