Tennessee baseball is the last undefeated team in the nation going into SEC play.
The No. 1 Vols (17-0) host No. 7 Florida (16-2) to open conference play in a three-game series starting Friday (6:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network+) at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Tennessee has won four of the past five series against Florida, although it has only won one of three home series against the Gators under Vols coach Tony Vitello.
The Vols are off to the best start in program history at 17-0. They swept St. Bonaventure in their final nonconference series and then beat West Georgia on Tuesday.
Tennessee's offense has been rolling. The Vols have hit eight grand slams so far, and they won the last games against St. Bonaventure with walk-off homers. Tennessee has outscored opponents 203-37 this season and has hit 50 home runs.
