Over the past few days, Titans Wire has profiled a couple of Day 3 linebacker prospects that the Tennessee Titans have met with during this pre-draft process. Those players all profile as depth pieces with special teams value.

On Monday, the Titans claimed a player off waivers that fits that same profile.

The Titans claimed linebacker Curtis Jacobs off waivers from the New England Patriots. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State after the 2024 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacobs was cut out of training camp and latched on with the Patriots.

In New England, he was primarily a special teamer, seeing action in nine games and making two starts.

The Titans have revamped their inside linebacker group this offseason, but still need to add some depth. They signed Cody Barton away from the Denver Broncos, but have let multiple experienced players depart during the process. Jacobs will join Barton, Otis Reese, Cedric Gray and James Williams at inside linebacker heading into the 2025 season.
