The Tennessee Titans have made improving their pass rush an offseason priority after releasing veteran Harold Landry. Not only have they added to the unit via free agency, but they have also dedicated a lot of time to evaluating edge prospects during the pre-draft process.
Turron Davenport reports that the Titans have conducted a Zoom visit with another pass rusher you can add to the list.
South Carolina edge Kyle Kennard completed a Zoom meeting with the Titans and could be a mid-round target. After transferring in from Georgia Tech, the 6-foot-5, 254-pound edge fit right in with the Gamecocks and had a tremendous season in 2024. In his only season with South Carolina, he made himself known with 28 total tackles (20 solo), 11.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles, good enough to bring home the prestigious Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
The SEC Defensive Player of the Year and a consensus All-American has proven to be a handful for the opposition, where his combination of size and speed can cause problems in the backfield. A well-rounded prospect, he still has room to develop and refine his skills in the NFL.
Heading into the draft, Kennard profiles as a developmental player who can come in and add some spice as a situational pass rusher. More of a pure speed-to-power rusher than a dynamic force off the edge, he could face some struggles in the NFL against the run. The upside is there, but he might need to add functional strength before assuming a more consistent three-down role.
With the Titans adding Dre’Mont Jones and Lorenzo Carter to the mix to join Arden Key at the edge, a developmental talent like Kennard might be what they are looking for in the mid-rounds of the draft.
