What is this guy's deal? He can't go anywhere without creating a stir. Dallas will be his third strike and he'll be out of football soon.

ESPN:
Whatever Terrell Owens did for training didn't prevent him from pulling a hamstring. Owens' comment that he was on the field too long running too many routes last week was a clear shot at coach Bill Parcells. What's that leave for Parcells? He can hold back playing time and a starting job if he doesn't see Owens on the field. Ah, the drama.

Granted, T.O. is good, but football is a team sport. Cowboys were suckers for signing him. And, I bet Parcells is close to the end of the rope. I would not be surprised to see T.O. waived!!

why is it when jerry jones said it was a (sic) "joint decision" i believe him as much as i did a former president who insisted "trust me"

i hate hearing...i shut it off...all the stuff about him or watching him on a stationary bike...BUT...i cannot deny there are not too many if any better between the sidelines when he is out there...."awfully good" to quote chuck daley. parcells ego is such that he feels he can handle anyone...bill p does not even say his name when referring to him.

I would be willing to bet $1000 that TO does not get waived by the cowboys prior to the first game of this season.

Because TO has a "Waaahhh look at me. Love me daddy" mentality. He doesn't care what kind of attention he gets as loing as it's attention. He's a 5 yr. old.

If the Cowboys suffer as much as the Eagles did last year because of TO I can’t say I will be sorry. They deserve what they get.

I really can't say that I am ever feeling sorry for the Cowboys.

Aren't we about due for TO and Rosenhaus demanding a new contract?

Let me start by saying I am not a fan of TO and think he is a troubled man.
BUT, he has never EVER been known as a player who doesn't play through injuries or practice hard. Because of that, I have to believe him when he says he is hurt and fault Parcells for pressuring him to practice when he wasn't 100% and reinjuring the hamstring. Bill felt media pressure, put that pressure on TO and got burned.

That's a good point. The problem Parcells has is they have 2 MRI's that say there's nothing wrong with To's hammy. It could be wrong, we've all heard of people that drop dead of something that doctors missed for years. NFL doctors do work for teams, it's entirely possible TO is telling the truth.

But for Parcells, all he can do is weigh the doctors comments, with the players'. Owens keeps hinting at without really saying that he's done this before, not practiced much, and then played well. If I'm Parcells coaching him for the first time I HAVE to at least consider that he's faking it because he just doesn't want to practice and knows I'm going to be under pressure to play him in games.

Solomon Wilcotts on Sirius (I seem to be referencing them A LOT lately) discussed this and said he had hammy injuries that he knew were hurt, but doctors couldn't pinpoint, so it is tough to say. Hammys and WRs are a bad combo to make. Now, TO needs to be crrected for his Lance Armstrong bit etc, but as for the injury, I have to hold any sort of TO bashing for now...... but I reserve the right to in the future announce what and idiot he is (again).

He's not unmanagable as he is an attention *****, which is his main vice.

That say's it all! Also the fact that TO has played thru injuries before.

I have no doubt TO will play hurt. The thing is, Parcells has a standard policy if you can't practice, you can't play. I assume even LT had to stick to that.

TO in SF often sat out practices to rest and then played, this was openly cited after he left as one of the bad influence things about him.

TO can't do that for Parcells but I think he's dropping hints trying to say looking I've done it before in SF and Philly, why can't I do it here?

ESPN ...built this fire and keeps stacking wood on it.

Its truly sick to watch how ESPN has made a molehill into a mountain. They have drummed up this whole thing from start to finish...you can see it has Parsells pissed off. But, not at T.O..... at the media!

What I don't get is why they are letting T.O. keep talking ??? put a gag order on him ..so the whole mess blow's over.

T.O. Isn't smart enough to realize how bad he is being used by the media...the guy is truly dumb. He likes the attention good or bad , but what will his future ever be after his playing days are over ?? Broadcasting...I don't think so, no one will watch him....Hall of Fame ??? no way. Wrestling maybe.

All of you are right.
This is mostly about the media's obsession with Owens and with Owen's need for attention.
It's crazy that we get daily updates about any NFL player from a national TV/Radio station like ESPN. (I'm getting very very tired of their ABC/Disney forced tie-ins and their non-stop hype machine.)

...but it's working in Owens' favor because here we are, talking about him some more.

He is. While I thought the Discovery jersey and Giro helmet were funny, it gives the wrong impression like he's screwing around. The guy just can't stop demanding the attention and nobody in football can control him.

ESPN is also responsible for the whole "Parcells is going to bench Bledsoe for Romo". Theisman couldnt keep Tony's romo out of his mouth for five seconds during the Monday Night Game.

T.O. T.O. What a bum,
He is great, he's great say some.
He plays the position oh so grand,
But the thing we here most is
Can we lose this man.

T.O. , T.O.
Where can you go,
Hardly no head coach can stand you,
Parcells will play until the day ,
You better get out of his way.

I wish I never saw his name,
In headlines in news and shows,
T.O. T.O. Most want to know,
When will you just play the game.

There's been a lot of poetry on the site lately. Keep it up and people might think football fans are cultured!

I am no fan of T.O. but when you have a bad ham string you have a bad ham string and playing will only make it worse. I do not think he is faking it and if so to what end.
