Terrell Suggs is the closest thing to Derek Thomas since Derek Thomas.

I know I am the schizophrenic SOB who can't seem to make up his mind from one day to the next, but I have finally seen the light and that light is Terrell Suggs. That light is knowing that we have a guy who can make plays, who is exceptional in one area (not just another all around good guy who is good at everything and not great at anything).

Suggs is a Thomas clone and that excites the heck out of me. I grew up a "Bama" fan and loved Thomas from his Bama days and always followed his career in Kansas City. Thomas was a one man pass rushing wrecking crew and Suggs moves just like Thomas did. Some movements, same mannerisms, same type of flattening out just before lowering the hammer on the quarterback.

If the Cards take Trufant, Mac won't last past the 10th game of the season, we will again be that bad. That's not a knock on Trufant, he is a heck of a player, thats just how bad our pass rush is and how bad it will be if they lose out on a great, great pass rusher like Suggs.

The so-so 40 time makes for some fun conversation and speculation, but the bottom line is that the guy has a gift, a knack of getting to the quarterback and he is no Tom Burke. Watch film and this guy looks like a stud, he moves like a stud, and he hits like a stud and all indications are that he has the skills that will translate to success in the NFL.

Holian,

I agree with you. I think the 40 times is a non-factor because you are talking about being within .5 sec or less. He does have a gift and a way about him. He would definately upgrade our pass rush.

However, would you think going DT at #6 and going DE @#37 would be better overall? Where do you see the depth, DE or DT?

Yeah, I had been hoping we wouldn't have to take Suggs by signing Colvin and Holliday, but now if we sign anyone but him, it'll be like putting a band-aid on a broken leg.

This is an insane comment. Suggs hasn't played a down in the NFL and you are comparing him to one of the best DE's in the history of the leauge.

Ridiculous.
