Another high-profile name is expected to head to NRG Stadium ahead of next month's NFL draft.
According to SEC Network, Texas running back Jaydon Blue is expected to meet with the Houston Texans as one of his pre-draft visits. A native of Klein, Blue's arrival won't go against the Texans;' top-30 visits since he'll be a local prospect meeting with the two-time defending AFC South champions.
Perhaps the biggest riser from the Longhorns' pro day, Blue recorded a 4.28 and 4.29 40-time in his two attempts during drills at Texas’ facilities in Austin. Both times were significant increases from his official time of 4.38 during last month's NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, the second-fast time among running backs at the event.
That time would have tied Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston for the fastest 40-yard-dash at the combine.
One of the more dynamic No. 2 options, Blue served as the No. 2 runing back behind Quintrevion Wisner at Texas during the 2024 season en route to a second College Football Playoff appearance. He ended the year with 730 rushing yards and a team-high eight touchdowns while averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
He also caught 42 passes for 368 yards last season and six scores. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound back is expected to be a Day 3 pick and quality special teams option on offense.
Joe Mixon isn't going anywhere after his breakout first season in Houston, but with Pierce and Dare Ogunbowale in contract years, targeting a running back to ease tension off the Pro Bowler in 2026 and beyond. Blue wouldn't be a focal point of the offense in Year 1, but proving that his potential is worth holding onto might benefit the Texans in their race back to the postseason.
The Texans have seven draft picks currently in next month's draft, including four in the top 100.

Jaydon Blue has elite traits: FAST and a dynamic pass catcher out of the backfield. Should be utilized in a committee from day one in the NFL. If he lands with an OC/Playcaller that will maximize his talent on the edges and in space…watch out pic.twitter.com/uIGzr1c8sE
