Texas A&M softball won another weekday game after a run-rule 12-4 victory Wednesday night against the University of North Texas.
Junior pitcher Grace Sparks sealed her third win for the Aggies and in three innings allowed one strikeout, zero walks and one run on four hits.
UNT jumped to an early lead in the first inning with a Cierra Simon solo home run.
Texas sophomore Mya Perez hit an RBI single, scoring lead-off hitter Kennedy Powell to tie the game. Infielder Mac Barbara hit another single for Perez to advance to second and a double from shortstop Koko Wooley gave the Aggies the 2-1 lead.

The game went scoreless through the next 4½ frames and the A&M offense steamrolled UNT with six hits. Thanks to a Powell RBI single, two back-to-back doubles and a two-run home run from outfielder Allie Enright, the Aggies had an 8-1 lead. It was the senior's 19th career home run.
UNT tried to stop the bleeding with a two-run home run in the fifth inning and an RBI single in the sixth, but A&M was one run away from the mercy rule going into effect.
In the bottom of the sixth, A&M scored three runs on five hits to make it 12-4. Infielder KK Demend scored on a Kramer Eschete single, Perez singled to score Eschete and a Barbara double brought in Amari Harper, who scored from second.
Texas A&M plays Loyola Marymount at home with a three-game series starting Friday.
