I know most of us never thought this team would make it to the NLCS, but they did and it was a great ride.

I hope the front office can find a power hitter and starter for next year. Also, re-sign Hudson.

Once again, thanks for a great season, it sure was a lot better than the past four years.

a couple .310 or .320 guys would be great! i think we have decent enough power, just not enough hits.

I just hope the young guys progress and don't regress. If they do that, this team should be good for a long time.

I'll never forget sitting in the owner's seats at Wrigley watching us sweep the Cubbies! Thanks for that glorious memory and a great send off after a great month in Chi-town Baby Backs!

Great year, even if it ended badly.

The team is young, and only going to get better. The power hitters, the .310 hitters - are all on the team. It just takes some time.

Hudson is looking a LOT better than "Pop Fly Byrnes" now.

Luckily, there's a lot of money coming off of the books now that the season is over. I don't think there will be too much difficulty coming up with the cash for Hudson unless he asks for something really exorbitant.

I have a feeling we're going to be hearing a lot of rumors involving Carlos Gonzalez and Dontrelle Willis this offseason.

It was a very memorable season this year! With this experience under our belts, and hopefully some improvements in hitting with our young guys, we should have another great year next year.

I really can't say I'm too disappointed. I honestly never expected us to get into the NLCS this year, and it has been a tremendous ride.

That said, I really do hope we sign a big power bat for the lineup next year. That could make the difference.

9th in the NL in SLG, but dead last in the NL in OBP. A slugger will only help this team if we get people on base in front of him. We already have power bats in Young and Reynolds. What we need is to get people on base when they hit those HRs. Young players develop power later. That's why the team seems lacking that, but it'll come. OBP is bigger priority.

Sadly enough, the guy most want rid of is 2nd on the team in OBP, but can't field a GB cleanly in the playoffs. So what to do?

Dontrelle Willis sucks. Please stay away from him.

Bingo. Conor Jackson had the second highest OPS on the team this year and was one of the few people willing to take a walk. He was also our best hitter after the AS break and we probably would not have made the playoffs without his bat in the lineup. Yeah, he needs to work on his fielding we all know that.

Why isn't Eric Byrnes getting more grief? Horrible play after the All Star break, foot in mouth during playoffs inspiring further an already jacked up Rockies team and fans, underwhelming performance in said playoffs. The $30 million man, eh? I'll also mention his defense is vastly overrated. Example A - Wily Tavarez taking third on a routine flyball to Byrnes thanks to that infuriating flip throw. Example B - Every one of Byrnes' throws going ten feet off the bag thanks to same said flip throw.

TRADE CONOR JACKSON.

Why?

After the All Star Break, he was arguably one of Arizona's best hitters, his defense improved and his plate discipline reminded me of a grizzled veteran instead of a young kid making his first real strides in MLB.

While we're on the question of people are jumping on players, why is everyone jumping all over Byrnes? I've read a lot of blogs where people are all over him. Is this not the same guy who carried the offense through stretches? Is this not the same guy who stole 50 bases? Or how about hustling so hard he beats out routine plays to first base, like in the Cubs series. I swear I hate PHX fans sometimes. Everything is great until the team starts losing, and then the finger pointing begins, and suddenly the guys we have been supporting and praising all year become the goat. Ridiculous.

Say what you want about Byrnes' theatrics, but don't blame him for the DBacks losing this series. What the hell did Todd Helton do in this series that was so great? I doubt Rockies fans are pissed at him because they're still winning. Baseball isn't a one man sport, and all too often it's not even the stars on the team that make the huge impact in a baseball postseason series. The only thing Byrnes did was run his mouth a little, but that's how he is.

Firstly, you can't go grouping ALL PHX fans like this, because there are factions. There are people who were very for the Byrnes signing and still are supportive of him, there are people who were very against the Byrnes signing and are very pissed about it still and taking it out on him, and then there are the completely myopic sports fans that make all of their comments and decisions based on the last game played.

Sorry but when you make $10 million a year, claim you're the team leader, and say everyone should follow your example then you're going to have a target on your back when you fail to perform. And I never blamed Byrnes for losing the series, there is more than enough blame to go around when you score eight runs in 38 innings. This sweep was a team effort.

And nice hypocrisy by the way calling people out who are pointing their fingers at players. That's essentially all you have done on this board since yesterday when it comes to Conor Jackson.
