This guy should be mentioned for the Pro Bowl. He is , by far, the best all around kicker in the league. He has become a reliable fg kicker, he is the best onside kicker that I can ever remember (even when the other team KNOWS we are kicking onside) and he has perfected the 30 yard pooch kick which has got to be driving opposing special team coaches to drink. They are going to be forced to change their kickoff formation to "defend" that part of the field.

I think we should name his pooch kick something like "The Bird Dropping"!

Oh , and one otehr thing. He is probably the best tackiling kicker in the league too!

There is a story behind that. While attending an away game in St Louis, a group of us sat with Neil's mother along with some other players relatives. Every time Rackers kicked a FG, we all yelled " Thank You, Mrs. Rackers!"

I absolutely love that play. For one thing, the high kick doesn't let him outkick the coverage, it tends to go into the hands of opponents that are blockers and not return guys, and 1/2 the time the opponents don't realize that it is a live ball and we can recover it (not a punt). We recovered one earlier in the season and almost, almost had a 2nd yesterday.

Worst case, some scrub gets in on the 30-35 yard line with no return.

The knock on Rackers was that he couldn't make the clutch kick. Its been a long time since he's been in that situation, almost two years, Dec of '07. I'd have traded him for a penny after he botched that FG against the Bears in '06.

Otherwise the guy is money. Great onsides kicks especially.

i would have traded him for an 8th round pick and righfully so. Whiz has done an excellent of keeping him out of pressure situations and restoring his confidence. Still, i'd be awfully nervous with him kicking a 45 yarder to win a key game. I feel better now than i did but that's always been his main bugaboo. There were some issues he had with his holder but everything now seems good. He is, without a doubt, the best kickoff man in the league.

Rackers is the best onsides/pooch kicker in the league, unquestionable. Maybe ever? Dunno, but he is sick with that. Great tackler..accurate. Should be a pro-bowler.

Our punter is pro-bowl caliber as well. The kicking game is a strength of this team, no doubt.

I was surprised when Aikman and Buck totally whiffed on that one; we've been utilizing that play for 3 years now and they both were wondering if that kick was an accident.
