Buckybird
Hoist the Lombardi Trophy
for finally waiving the flag & admitting the mistake of making ******* DA the starting QB for the Arizona Cardinals. Maybe Skelton is the answer...he is a Texas boy
Its pathetic that it got to this point. Pathetic
The correct term is Pasthetic. Meaning the Cards are beyond pathetic.
LOL, I like that term.
Whis screwed the pooch bad cutting Leinart no doubt about it. Derrick Anderson is the worst QB to get extended playing time that I've seen in my 20 years of Cardinals fandom.
Skelton had his moments today. He showed some of the tools that the team traded a defensive starter and draft pick to get.
Let's take a look:
Anderson went 7/20 35% completion. He sucks we knew it
Hall went 1/3. He sucks and is injured
Skelton looked respectable in mop up duty given the circumstances. From what Ive read, he has only gotten scout team reps. Start the dude and give him a week to get in rhythm with the rest of the offense.
Just do it
All of our QB's are garbage........end of story.
At least Skelton still holds the hope of potential...
Anderson - no words are necessary, we all have seen enough.
Hall - he simply is not a NFL QB. He might do OK in Arena football.

I agree the guy at least actually looked like an NFL QB and threw some nice passes. Add Skelton not playing instead of Max Hall to Brian Robinson starting ahead of Dan Williams.
This coaching staff must have had too much rubber chicken on the banquet circuit the last two years.
One of Whisenhunt's faults that I will address that I would agree with the haters on:
His old school make the rookies earn playing time stance.
If I remember correctly, I do remember Whisenhunt making a comment that he didn't want to force Skelton to play to quickly under bad conditions and ruin the guy. That has some merit, and it may have something to do with giving Max Hall the chance first.
I can see that but then why wouldn't he be worried about ruining Max Hall?
Of course the spin would be that Hall was older and had played at a higher level in college and so wouldn't be ruined as easily. But then that didn't work out too well did it?
Which begs the question. Was Max Hall simply cannon fodder for this season while the Cards developed Skelton?
It's a tough business.
I've actually ran that (play Max, develop Skelton) scenario in my head. It's a possibility.
And yes, Max Hall did play at a higher level, is older, and could bounce back mentally. But I don't think anyone fully anticipated how fragile the guy is.
Well some of us did. But the comparison to Drew Brees threw a lot of people off. Its like Tom Brady and late round QBs. He's the exception not the rule.
I actually feel sorry for the guy. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Team in transition with a makeover offensive line.
Probably would have done fairly well in the UFL.
How do we know Skelton is garbage when he hasn't played? DA & Hall I agree but Skelton actually showed some promise. At the very minimum he looks like he'll be on an NFL roster unlike the other 2
The thing is Duck every QB in this league that would be playing behind this pitiful, what our HC calls an offensive line would be hurt at some point of the season. Hall had zero chance to get almost any pass off today.

I realize the air is a little low in the tire here, meaning we're all grasping at straws but thinking mop up duty means anything, and I mean anything is a stretch at best.
No one's game planned to stop him, he hasn't faced the best a team can throw at him at all.
It's way early for even hope, but when you're a beat dog, any other master looks good I suppose.
