It's an NFL truism that an integral thing about being hired is that, sooner or later, you'll get fired.

Thanks for the good times, learn from the ugly times and live to coach again some other day.

And check out the names of other football people who were let go today. You're in classy company.

The NFC West titles and the NFC Championship were my best years as a Cardinal fan.
Thank You Whiz

Really? I said the guy has MILLIONS in the bank to coach football and I'm not being classy? LOL!

I saw Whiz as very impressive, (yet perplexing), at the same time. Too bad the perplexing part finally won out. I still think he has talent, and if he fixes a couple of things along the way he should be a very good coach. Its a shame that it will not be with the Cards. Good luck to Whiz in his future endeavors.

Yeah great memories from 2007-2009 with Whisenhunt as HC. I'll always remember those years.

"thanks enough" were your exact words. And based on your comments in other threads, I suspect you weren't aiming for pleasantries

Even though I thought it was time to move on as well, i too would like to thank Wiz for a magical run to the Super Bowl and an incredible playoff game against the Packers. Those were great times, but the fact that they couldn't be sustained in any way shape or form three years later meant it was time to part way. I wish him nothing but luck in the future.

Yes Whiz, thanks for taking a team with tons of talent and turning them into a poor to mediocre team. And oh yes, thanks for stumbling into letting Warner QB and take us to a few weeks of glory during our playoff run. God knows you tried to mix things up, but with Warner gone and Haley too, you just didn't have enough going for you to ever make things happen. Good luck though in your future assistant coaching stints.

Thanks Whiz for the great run, the almost championship and shaking this organization to its core to remind it that it can compete and win in today's NFL.

You royally effed up the QB position, are too stubborn for your own good, and suck donkey at personell decisions, but you were the best coach we've had.

And though I am beyond happy to see you go, you have provided us great joy and excitement, and have hopefully paved the way for the team to improve. Oh, you should have fired Grimm years ago.

Well said.

I don't think we had the luxury for him to fix the flaws that got in the way of his talent. Perplexing is certainly the perfect term for him.

It's a sad day in the history of the Chicago/St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, this franchise has been very good at delivering sad days. As a longstanding, loyal Cardinal fan, I'll move on, but this is just another bad decision by a notoriously bad organization. I actually think that deep down, this is what Whisenhunt wanted, so I'm at least happy for him in that respect. Thanks Whiz for delivering something that no other HC in our history did or probably ever will. I wish you well wherever you go & I'm sure that you'll see another SB sooner than we will here in AZ. Thanks for the memories & for putting up with this clown organization for as long as you did. Keep us Cardinal fans in your prayers as we'll definitely need prayers.

I don't think I need to wish you any luck Whiz. You won't be unemployed for long.

It's a bittersweet day for me. While I make no apologies for wanting Whisenhunt out of AZ, I cannot thank him enough for providing me the best few weeks of football that I might ever see. The sheer joy I had when the Cardinals beat Philly in the NFC title game, matched with what was probably a mild heart attack when AZ took the late lead in SB XLIII, cannot easily be duplicated.

Ken Whisenhunt took the Cardinals...THE CARDINALS...to within a few seconds of a Super Bowl title. Thank you, and good luck Coach Whisenhunt.

It is amazing how different people perceive the same information.

Not attacking your post Chris, it just intrigues me.

Thanks Whis for the beginning run to the NFC Championship and SB. We were just a toe an inch or two off the turf away possibly.

I will always be grateful for that season.
