15 more games. We need to win this sunday or we will be playing catch up all over again.

We will wait. Win or lose, we cheer. Catch up or not. I don't really know why I have this fire in me, but for s***'s sake, we need to support. If we whine and moan, its same ol' Cards. I respect our team, as should the the NFL. We won't roll over lightly this year.

The way I saw it , they played back , thet blitzed, they showed blitz and backed off.
The real back breaker was Smiths scramble on 4th and 1. Our d_line kind of checked up to contain but weren't able to.

I'd rather lose playing aggresive that to play prevent. Although the results were the same we realy did play it different than in the past.

5 consecutive drives that yielded just 3 first downs, one of which was from penalty. We let them move the ball on their final drive but still made an ultra tremendous play to keep their fullback from going out of bounds AND Terence Holt forces a fumble at the 1.

I was honestly more angry at Leinart's accuracy on the throw to Fitzgerald. It was overthrown by at least two yards. If that thing gets passed with just a little less power, Fitz comes up with it, we kick a FG. I'm just glad he didn't look to Morey deep again.

I couldn't tell if our receivers really weren't getting open because I was hearing it from the Mikes and they were wrong on nearly every piece of commentating. The gimmick of the three Mikes isn't cute.

I couldn't tell you how many times I was impressed by this defense. That fumble recovery in the end zone was a fluke. People are angry at Green for not falling on the fumble, but he made game-breaking plays including breaking up a would-be touchdown.

My mind immediately turned to Seattle and I think we need to get the ball to Boldin more. 5 touches resulting in 2 first downs and an end zone reception.

Also important would be to turn up the tempo on the offense, do some no huddle. I suppose we should work on not piling up penalties before we think about speeding drives along. I'd like to see Leinart go through his progressions faster and throw faster, but maybe the secondary tonight actually made him play hesitant.

Um, Clancy called a great game outside the last four minutes when he tucked it between his legs, put on a dress and called terrible plays.

I do have to eat a bit of crow and say that the defense played great all of the game until the last THREE minutes. From that point on, they just turtled hard. Terrible, especially on fourth and one when we let alex get one plus 40.

then you can angry the game after the seahawks...

No, we are going to smoke the seahawks. I don't think we come out that bad on offense, at all. If the defense is anywhere near as good, we win this one going away.

Want to know what the really ****ing sick thing is? I miss Phoenix. I want to move back to Phoenix.

Is it because of the places I remember? Ehhh not as much as you'd think.

Friends? Some are still there, but a lot have moved elsewhere or grown apart over time.

Why would I want to move there? So I can watch this wretched sick pathetic disfunctional team every week in person.

I'm worse than the pathetic guy in your home game who doesn't even like poker but shows up every week to donate a couple buy ins.

But isn't that what we've seen from our defense for the last 3 years? The Break but don't bend defense. 10,20,30 good or great plays and 1 or 2 terrible one's that just kill us.

The D was what kept us in this game, they had a great game, and even at the end it was not what I would call al melt down, unlucky rather than plain flat out bad.

There is not a person on this board who would not have felt if we can hold the Whiners to 20 points we are going to win!

screw that it ain't clancy. its the retards that kept him here and the other retards on the sideline who didn't overrule the calls. But at the same time I can't blame Whiz, its his first freaking game as head coach. I don't know if he's going to overrule his d-coor the first freaking game of the year. It wouldn't be the right managerial decision in week 1.

THIS ONE IS FOR YOU KOC. TIM WE DID IT.
I hope all the brainless sheep who applauded keeping this idiot around are happy.

If anything I think you are a brainless idiot who doesnt know his head from his ass. Our D was the only thing that even kept us in this game. Start a thread about Leinarts pick to start off the game or how we couldnt convert a first down.

I don't have a problem with how the defense was called the last drive. You're up by 4 and the need 86 yards and a TD. You giveup the underneath stuff early torun time off the clock. Once they passedmidfield the Cards started blitzing and trying to get more pressure on Smith. I put the blame squarely on the players not being able to make aplay that is needed to win the game. 4th and 1 and the Cards let him scramble for a long gain. Get in there and make a play. Eric Green drops a sure int and probably six points. That was a good intial play but MAKE THE PLAY and it's game over. Green also only needs to knock the ball out of the end zone and it's game over. There were plenty of oppurtunities for the Cards to put the nail in the coffin but no one stood up. Dansby's face mask gave them a free 5 yards that totally changes the defensive call on 4th down. 4t and 6,you know they are passing.Instead on 4th and 1 they had to play for both the run and pass.

Speaking of the Dansby face mask penalty on the niners last drive; How did the Niners get a 1st and 1 to go. Is that standard procedure for a lesser fask mask call? I was thinking either its 2nd and 1 or 1st and 10.

Is it a "spot of the foul" penalty? Only the Cards could keep the niners from gaining 1 yard in three tries only to give up a huge gain on 4th and 1. Break but don't Bend.

Green also only needs to knock the ball out of the end zone and it's game over.

Wouldn't that be a penalty? In the Denver game Selvin Young makes a heads up play and bats Cutler's Plummeresque lateral out of bounds. Denver kept the ball but was penalized for illegal batting. Would that have applied to the endzone play?

that's a good point. So the third down was realy fourth down and the scramble should never have happened.

To the Commissioner's Office!

We played great defense, for the most part, but stupid penalties and Leinart looking lost out there didn't help our cause. I thought our running game kept us in the game. When was the last time you could say, "ball control" and Cards in the same sentence? Those who questioned why we kept our third string center, rather than cutting him, now know why. He stepped up to the plate and played very well considering that he is a rookie.

the defense played prevent until the 49'ers got the ball into cardinals territory. then clancy started bringing more, but they just couldn't get to smith.

even with how good the D was playing, i still dont like them giving up the ball with 3 min left without even trying to get a 1st down to ice the game. this is the NFL, you dont give teams extra chances to beat you.

Agreed....I think that the Cards offense needed to prove that they could make a first down in a crucial situation. That is what a winning team does and gives the whole team some swagger.

The defense played great for the most part...they were given some pretty tough situations since the offense could not give them field position or eat up the clock.
