I know my son (cardsfanmd) has given everyone updates, but I personally wanted to thank everyone who kept us in their prayers & thoughts. I'm so extremely grateful that my blockage was limited to one artery, which allowed for a stent as opposed to open-heart surgery. I'm very fortunate because the artery involved was a major one (descending coronary artery), which was a heart attack waiting. The blockage was 95%, so matters were more imminent than I originally thought. The scary thing is that previous to the stress test, I had no symptoms to suggest I had problems. I was having my yearly physical and mentioned to the doctor that I would like an EKG & Stress Test also. That stress test SAVED my life. Again, thank you everyone. I will be laying low for a week or so & then slowly will get back into the swing of things. I'm looking forward to watching the Cardinals beat Seattle on Sunday & THEY WILL.

I'm glad that you will be recovering soon. When the Cards win this weekend, I'll think of you.

Its times like this when you realize that football games don't matter as much as you think they do. God Speed bud....

Right on!!! Take your asprin. That is awesome that you found out. My cardiologist (atrial fibrillation) told me that I would probably outlive most people because the doctors are paying attention to my heart when they are ignoring others.

Lets be real here. My dad just really wanted the doc to do a prostate exam on him and the guy said he would only do it if Pops did a stress test too.:D

Congratulations on your successful procedure and favorable prognosis, PACardsFan. Kudos as well to your GP, for putting his patient's health above the financial bottom line and authorizing a test that didn't, at the time, appear to be strictly necessary.
