Not surprisingly, time outs could be used more efficiently by KK.
didnt expect this: McVay, Peyton, Carrol, McDermot -- all HCs that are considered highly competent are at/near the top of biggest unnecessary wasters of TOs

Since I haven't made a comment yet, I guess I better get a post in if it's headed to HOF. When this thread was posted, I read maybe the first page and just got PO'd about the whole thing and thought the OP was being a ******* so I didn't read it until it got bumped recently. My memory isn't good enough that I know what posters past positions are on players/coaches.. love/hate etc so I just kinda take every post as it comes. I had to go back and see who started the thread anyway, couldn't remember.

Anyhoo I was lukewarm on both Kyler and Kingsbury, hopeful but in typical Cardinal fan mentality, I just knew the whole thing was headed to the scene of the crash (apologies to Ron White for stealing that line).

Year 1, watching Kyler, I'm thinking wow, this kid has talent and I like him, but Kingsbury just doesn't have it for the pro level and Kyler will be doomed, stuck with a bad coach. Year 2, great start and then crash and burn. Took what lots of posters here said that Kyler being hurt not withstanding, Kliff was the problem.

This year I can't believe my eyes.

.
I saw it differently. Early in year one, Kliff tried his offense, it didn't work and he adjusted. Offense got better but was held back by a talented yet inexperienced QB.

Year two? Murray was terrible as a passer at times. Terrible.

Year three Murray has improved dramatically. Kliff can run a lot more of his playback now. Look at what he did with McCoy, a limited but experienced QB? He scored 30 points with him.

I see winning coaches on the top and losing coaches at the bottom….winning coaches use unnecessary timeout while losing coaches don’t have to because they are losing the game?? And it’s garbage time TO’s?:shrug::shrug::shrug:

The rankings on the right are slightly misleading as there are other teams that have already had a bye that are ahead of us on per game averages. That being said we are clearly a way better team in all facets than we were 3 years ago. Pretty much on a completely different planet.

Do we only bump this thread after a win? Or can we do it whenever? By far Kliffs worst half of the season. 17 passes to 6 runs against one of the best pass Ds in the nfl.
He’s been awful had an awful game plan yes fire at half time

I have actually turned this game off and resign myself to the radio broadcast.
I get it. I was there and wanted to leave very early but of course I stayed until the end as I am a member of the battered fan syndrome.

I don't think he was necessarily out-coached but had a completely wrong game plan from the start that back fired.
Missing multiple offensive weapons, what we should have done was use Carolina's game plan.
Stop the run and favor the run/play action/dink-dunk on offense. McCoy isn't a touchdown machine and never was. Conner naturally is a bruiser.
I believe this team is built for winning the NFC west and that is what we are doing currently.

I just don't know why we suck at home. It is like the players don't really care playing at home.
On the road they seem more focused.

Reverted back to Coach Bro yesterday. Going for it on 4th down from your own side, in the 1st qtr?
That is what he does and I have no problem with it. We are one of the best 4th down conversion teams in the NFL. What I didn't like about it was calling a QB sneak. We did that twice on fourth down against the Niners, Panthers were expecting it.

I don’t think you know what “outcoached” means.

Yeah, it was like because QB sneaks/punching it up the middle worked against the Niners, it was going to work this week. Edmonds got stuffed, then Colt never got close.

I don't mind going for it, but you weren't going to stuff it up the middle like against the Niners.

We needed a 'spark'.

My issue is that it was a 'sneak'.
We needed a "spark" in the 1st Quarter??? That seems a bit of a stretch to me. But, whatever, it was done and it's on to the next game. Wasn't the first stupid call and won't be the last by KK. Every coach has those moments.

On to Seattle!

Yeah. That seemed like an indication of panic rather than a spark.

Crazy to see Kliff prob coach the best game of his career last week only to follow it up with one of his worst.

But I’m not going to kill him for it. Let’s get Kyler back next week, get a w and then another couple weeks of rest to get all the injured guys ready for the home stretch.
