C Pace has played well this year, and has improved every year. He got off to a bad start because he was drafted so high. Thats not his fault. With different coaching and positions, he has done a good job. I would re-sign him. He has shown he can be a contributing player to next years Playoff team.

The guy was just a beast today. Sure glad they didn't give up on him after his injury.

I thought he was done after that incident.

It also appears that he is perfectly suited for the 3-4 D whcih is what he played and starred in at Wake Forest.

Maybe just maybe he is a case of trying to squeeze a square peg into a round hole until this year.

I'd have to go with that. When we played the Patriots at SDS several people commented on how Pace physically resembled the NE OLB's.

London FLetcher played out of his mind today.

Yes he did. Johnson couldn't touch him when our C was asked to get a hat on Fletcher. I kept wondering if there wasn't something we could do offensively to take advantage of how aggressively Fletcher was playing.

Certainly. Doesnt make his contributuons any less this year because the light took awhile to come on.

Close...He played in a hybrid 3-3-5 at Wake but never stood up. He was a hand-down DE, essentially Dockett's role in this defense, was what Calvin was.

Pace has always played hard and has a monster work ethic. I think a combo of too-high expectations, and a couple of coaching staffs that didnt know how to use him, was his downfall. Glad to see he is playing well. Need to resign him sooner rather than later.

Sounds like the Cards want Calvin back

Darren Urban in his latest article indicates that the Cardinals will talk to Pace's agent about an extension. Dansby is obviously the priority, but Calvin is also on the radar screen....

The showing emphasized the progress Pace has made at linebacker, so much so that the Cardinals have interest in re-signing the five-year veteran with his rookie contract expiring after the season – something that once seemed unlikely.
An extension isn’t close, not when the team wants to first concentrate on getting a new deal worked out with fellow linebacker Karlos Dansby. But general manager Rod Graves, who expects to meet with Dansby’s agent during the upcoming bye week coming up, wants to do the same with Pace’s agent.

he is definitely making a case to get a new contract.

Other than Darnell Dockett, I don't think there is any other player who has benefited more from the change in coaching staffs. This may be one of those cases, where an extension is the best situation for both parties.

And this is a guy who felt there was no way that he or Daryl Blackstock could replace Chike Okeafor. I was sooooooowrong. :D
