That is the ugliest logo I could imagine...

I love the original logo. I may be a bit sentimental but I don't think that is it. Too me, the new logo looks more cheesy than the original(which I don't think looks cheesy.) I truly do not believe that it is an upgrade. I like the red helmet though. Anyone else not like it.

I'm not thrilled about it. I'm happy with what we got now.

dude I understand your attachment to the old logo, but there is a reason that the cards rank near the bottom in merchandise sells. Yes it has to do with not winning, but alot of people dont like the look.

If I were you I would give it some time before you judge it and who knows it may not be the exact look. You also have not seen what it will actually look like on a uniform.

It has NOTHING to do with the uniform or the logo, it's all the losing. In the mid 70's when we were good we sold much more merchandise than we do now (adjusted for population etc of course).

If the Cards had been winning we'd have sold more stuff, look at how ugly the 49ers stuff is, they won for a long time, and sold a ton of stuff.

I don't agree with Little Davis on the new logo I'm ok with it.

I've been a Cardinal fan since they were in Chicago. My first impression is I like it. Maybe because I have been worried that we might do something totally assinine like change our name to the Arizona Cacti. Go to green and sand colored uniforms with a real mean looking cactus with a football stuck on one of it's limbs! SHEEESSHHH.

We still have yet to see what changes there might be as far as the entire uniform.

Now if they could just eliminate those tan kackis that the coaches wear..........

yeah but you are talking about the mid 70's compared to 2005. obviously there have been advancements in just about everything so you have to make a splash and today that usually means being flashy in some way

This logo provides a new edge to the team and hopefully they make the uniforms follow suit. It's the perfect thing to do with the new stadium on the horizon. They are trying to bring in a new era of ARIZONA Cardinals football and that means that the past is just that. It's time to move on and finally give the team its on identity here in arizona.

Doesnt seem like the Cowboys, Vikings, Bears, Packers, Redskins, Eagles, Lions, Saints, 49ers, Bills, Jets, Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders, Colts, or Browns need the flash of the 21st century.

The bills, jets, redskins, lions, eagles, and the 49ers have all made minor jersey/logo changes in the past 5 years or so. The lions just changed there uniforms last year, the bills did too. The Redskins changed their helmets two years ago and i think the eagles tweaked there stuff 3 years ago.

I was just going to say that. Most if not all have made changes to their logos or uniforms.

The most obvious things is that none of them are name after a small red usually though of as harmless bird.

You are right about the Bills. I was wrong there. The other teams changes are so small they are hardly noticeable. I was not aware of any change in the Redskins helmets. They wore those throw back helmets a few times. Not the kind of changes being talked about here. Those teams did not make drastic changes in color schemes or logos. If my memory is correct very few changes in the helmets for those teams.

As far as I know, the Redskins even experimented with new socks this year.

When the new logo was leaked, I wasn't really sure what to think. But I looked at them both side by side and the difference is quite amazing from my POV. The old bird looked very old-school, passive and dated. I like the new logo because it has an edge to it. The previous one didn't IMO.

The Redskins' helmet has not changed, but their uniforms got slightly tweaked last year (nameplate under the collar). The Bills' helmet striping got changed (added a couple of colors - Dark Navy Blue and Nickel), and the Eagles did a modernization/revamp in 1996. And then, they added another additional color (Charcoal) the season before last.

I would say that the Eagles did EXACTLY what it looks like the Cardinals are doing...modernizing and updating their look.

what about their alternate "arrow" helmet they wear

That is also a throw back, but I like it best, also Jets new/old unis they wear are very nice(much better than oops o'Brien years unis)

I love the change to the cardinals logo it does look more modern and intense yet still connects us to the past Cards.

The Redskins still list that throwback uniform as an official alternate (they call it a "Classic" uniform), but they haven't worn them in a while.

In the '70's the Redskins had the letter "R" on their helmet where the Indian head is now, and they also wore helmets in the '60's that looked like a single feather coming up the back of the helmet. I wouldn't exactly call the Redskins slaves to tradition.

The Bills used to have a standing silhouette of a buffalo on a white helmet and their current logo also was on a white helmet.

As was noted before, the Dolphins changed their helmet logo recently to update it and make the Dolphin look "tougher".

Even the Bears used to have a blue "C" on a white helmet and Dallas had a dark blue star on a white helmet.

I am glad the images are above this post. I am an artist and I have to say that the original design is a formally and compositionally balanced image. The new logo seems stretched and unbalanced. I am all for modern design and all but I just don't believe this is a strong image. That is all. I hate the way that the line in the beak flows directly into the black of the cheek. The flow of the image does not seem to stand out, rather, it appears that it may be benign on the helmet. We'll see but this is my position as of now.

i don't really like it. what would've been perfect would've been a return to the jerseys of the 80s. the black trim around the numbers. the elimination of the hideous blue and az state flag. it would've been nice to see the cards win the super bowl wearing those CLASSIC unis.

you know, maybe the packers should modernize their unis. yeah, just get rid of the G on the helmet and put an ANGRY and PISSED OFF packerman to make them cool! what a great idea! the browns should put a MEAN and ANGRY and PISSED OFF dog on their helmets and wear black! cause NO ONE wears black - no one at all! oh wait, all of the nfl-arena league teams do. this is just not right at all. i wish we could just win instead of trying to fool everybody with a new logo.

example: anybody flown on the airline called air tran? it used to be known as valujet. yeah, that's right - the airline that blew up 130 people in miami in 1997. they changed their name, painted their planes different - and voila!

i'll get on board - i'm a cards fan, i have no choice. but i really don't like it.

I dont see this as an Eagles type change. When I look at the Eagles helmets from the 70s I do not see that big a difference to the current ones. When I was referencing changes for the 21st century I was not including changes in the 60s and 70s(Bills, Redskins). Thanks for the correction regarding the Bills. I do not like the new logo. It looks like a poorly drawn cartoon. Like something out of Southpark. I love that show but not for the art.
